I'm probably making a noob mistake here, but please help me.

1 - Mayor mandates aluminum statue to be built.

2 - According to the wiki, I need native aluminum.

3 - Luckily, I found a small cluster.

4 - I mine it. It's in the stockpile.

5 - I order the Mason to build a statue out of it.

6 - "Canceled because there is no native aluminum"

I've rebuilt the masonry three times, changed stockpiles, changed masons... I don't know what to do. The native aluminum is THERE. I tried melting some of it, even though the wiki says statues are made from a single ore. Like expected, he won't use the aluminum bars either.

I'm assuming I'm making a very stupid mistake somewhere, but don't know. Help!

Its a economic stone along with native gold nuggets, iron ore, silver ore etc, so is automatically bypassed (so you dont use up all your mineral ores by default)

But this along with a bunch of other screens can be amended by going to the z menu, which can show you your site name, population and when you have a competent broker, your site wealth; then navigating the menus at the top using [TAB] between kitchen, stones, justice etc. You'll find the screen with the economic stones and can toggle it on.
