Four of my dwarves became noble out of the sudden, including a queen.

So, this happened at the same time:

Urist 1, being the rightful heir, has inherited the position of Baron of Boltsshadows
Urist 2, begin the the rightful heir, has inherited the position of count of Fountainrecluse
Urist 3 has bcome a baron of Boltsshadows
After a polite discussion with local rivals, Urist 4 has claimed the position of queen of The Enjoyable Bodice.

What happend here? I'm at 85 dwarves and my wealth didn't explode or anything like that. Did a bunch of nobles elsewhere died together and then my guys inherited the titles?

Something like that seems likely. Maybe the goblins took the Mountainhome? You should be able to find out via the “C” screen the next time the Outpost Liason comes.

Looks like there was a massacre at the Mountainhomes.

Congratulations on your new nobles! Expensive stuff on pedestals and chained animals are a great way of making rooms more expensive and desirable, if you need to in a hurry!

Sounds like that dwarven bard may not be a fully proper bard, but just more of a bardiche kinda performer.
