Should gun ownership rights belong to the original design, or should revisions create "new guns" with individual rights?

One design, one right - a gun and all its revisions only belong to one person at a time.
Each revision creates a new gun with rights different from the original.
I have no opinion.

Quote
Korsgaard Armoury
Revision Name: KG24-N1 "Vulture"
Parent Design: KG-24-2A "Vulture"

The KG24-N1 (in Korsgaard's updated notation) is a modified Vulture with a large portion of the counter-recoil system removed. Instead, a single huge recoil spring acts as a shock absorber. To ensure the proper travel of the bolt during the loading cycle, the replacement recoil springs are extremely stiff (this unfortunately still necessitates the use of a hand crank to ready the weapon).

We expect the N1 version of the Vulture to be substantially lighter and cheaper to produce, at the expense of harsher felt recoil.

Korsgaard also subcontracts for NOPE, offering one shipment each of NOPE Repeater M20** rifles and 7.65×40mm NOPE "Light Rifle" ammunition to be delivered this turn.

Doesn't make a difference to me, since I'm delivering them this turn. Signing a formal contract to make sure things go as planned would be nice but probably a bit unnecessary.

Spring, 1927.  Contract Phase.

Sorry about that, I was moving close to the speed of light and I forgot you "Velocity Challenged" individuals experience time differently.

The first transatlantic telephone call is made via radio from New York City, USA, to London, UK.  Mariti and Ditissimus begin the process of reunification (in blatant violation of the Treaty of Versailles), a logistical nightmare.  Singula issues a formal protest and denounces the act, and some suspect members of the Singula government are under some foreign influence.  Great Britain sends troops to China to protect foreign nationals from spreading ant-foreign riots in central China.  A strike in Shanghai occurs in protest of British troops.  A skirmish breaks out along the border between Imperiosa and Parvus, though both countries deny it.  Tensions seem to cool of slightly between the two and tentative negotiations begin.  Heisenberg formulates his famous uncertainty principle, and many years later a tv show will be made about a drug peddler who uses his name as an alias. Six foreigners are killed in Nanking, and it appears that Kuomintang and Chinese Communist Party forces will overrun the foreign consulates.  The US Navy and British Royal Navy fire shells to disperse the crowds.  The Kuomintang (Nationalist Chinese) set up a government in Nanking, China.  The Great And Glorious Nation of Mundo has begun requiring citizens within its border carry identification papers proving their citizenship.  Those found without papers are subjected to a great deal of harassment, which Socialas denounces as a humans right violation.  Socialas begins using chlorine gas against Paupertas.  Bell Telephone Co. transmits an image of Herbert Hoover, the first successful long-distance demonstration of television.  The UK cuts diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union due to the revelations of espionage and underground agitation.

The Anti-Sin Faction in the Occassio government has gained a great deal of traction.  Among the topics they discuss, the number of weapons manufacturers within Occassio Borders is especially concerning.  There's some proposals of revoking company charters for smaller weapons manufacturers and allowing mergers to occur.  This shift in the direction of the Anti-Sin Faction surprises many, who assumed there would simply be a tax levied on weapons manufacturing companies instead.

A politician is pulled into an alleyway and quietly threatened.

It is now the contract phase.  You may post bids for the listed contracts.

ACTACTACT

Korsgaard Armoury
Bid:
  Paupertas Tank Hunters #42
Weapon: KG24-N1 "Vulture"
Pitch: Artillery too bulky? Need a rifle that can still do the job? When you need a tank dead and need it dead now, there's no other rifle cartridge you can trust more than Korsgaard's 13.5mm. As a bonus, the N1 version is now cheaper and lighter than ever - perfect for a guerrilla army on a budget.

Spoiler: KG24-N1 "Vulture" (click to show/hide)

Korsgaard repays their loan to Vaux and Leander. Additionally, Korsgaard offers this contract to all interested manufacturers.

Quote from: Korsgaard Subcontracting Agreement
As Korsgaard cannot fulfill the entire Paupertas Tank Hunters #42 contract in the time allotted, they are willing to pay $5 per shipment of ammunition received.

Interested parties should sign below, stating how many shipments they plan to provide and at what time. All shipments must be delivered by the Paupertas Tank Hunters #42 contract's due date. Payment will be provided upon receipt of delivered shipments. Signing this contract grants the subcontractor a temporary license to produce the agreed guns and ammunition until all shipments that were promised by that company are delivered. If Korsgaard does not win the Paupertas Tank Hunters #42 contract or not enough companies agree to provide shipments to fulfill the entire contract, this contract is null and void.

The M25 gets a face-lift like the old M20** did.  The heat shield is simplified, the bayonet fixtures are removed, the rifling is reduced to three spirals, and some of the contouring is ignored during manufacturing.  The newer gun is blockier and heavier and far less pretty, but anywhere a corner can be cut, a cut is made.

(Also, looking through your armory I'm not sure what the difference between an M25 and an M20** is any more).
Wait, where did the bayonet lug go? Why did the bayonet lug go? Wouldn't ditching the bayonet be a second revision anyways? Can I have the bayonet lug back please?
As for difference between the M20** and the M25*, the M25* is select-fire(and currently lacks a bayonet for some reason)
