Contract: Occassio Secret Service #35 ($330, Spring 1933)Weapon: PPF-29
Offer: The PPF-29 is a highly concealable, sleek handgun with a fair ammo capacity for its size. It also is very accurate and has a retainer loop to keep the weapon safely within your officers' reach if someone tries to take it away from them in close quarters combat.
Offered: Seagull Secret Service Special M21
The Seagull Special is easily concealable, and has the reliability you need when it counts.
The Occassio Secret Service is looking for a handgun which must be discrete, accurate, and low-caliber. The Seagull Secret Service Special is a bit higher-caliber than they'd like, and the cylinder is bulkier than they'd prefer. The PPF-29, a brand-new handgun (almost as if it had been designed for this specific contract), is a sleek, concealable side-arm which maintains accuracy despite the slim form-factor.
To that end, Tommelson and Dowers wins the bid. Congrats on your first win, Oakrose!
Contract: Parvus Milita #48 (Spring 1933, $250)Weapon: KashKow Kicker: Huntsman
Its a shotgun, much life the ones your farmers likely had access to in civilian life, except its indestructible and immune to neglect.
The Parvus Militia was really hoping for rifles, but shotguns will work in a pinch - especially since the militia are more likely to be familiar with them, and
especially since it's the only bid this turn.
KashKow wins the bid.
Contract: Paupertas Irregular Units Command #49 (Winter 1931, $225)bid 1:VL M18 car
a shortened carbine variant of the ever reliable VL M18 used by the Paupertas sniper corps and socialas infantry ensures availability of ammo as forces can loot ammo off of the invaders
GM NOTE: You may submit only one weapon per contract bid. I've selected the first bid from Vaux and Leander and discarded the second.
Weapon: LSR-28/A
Offer: We believe the LSR-28/A will do all you require of it for your irregulars. The LSR-28/A is a light rifle with great ammo capacity and near-perfect accuracy, while it may lack a bit of stopping power, it more than makes up for it with the sheer mobility and accuracy your men will need to duck and weave out of buildings to take shots at important personnel before slipping away and more.
Offered: Cuckoo Repeater M25*-FK
The Cuckoo is one of the lightest rifles on the market, and the intermediate rifle round it fires still has plenty of punch and range. Even better, the M25* model is select-fire for potential usage doubling as a submachine gun.
Paupertas is looking for light, accurate rifles with a premium on stopping power. The VL M18 is a shortened rifle with an ammo compatibility - but the fact that Vaux and Leander has been
supplying the people invading them causes the Paupertas officials to grumble disfavorably over the weapon. Still, it is an reasonably accurate weapon with light-weight features.
The LSR-28/A is more akin to what they're looking for; light, accurate, and with the ability to carry killing power far afield, the recent changes to reliability make it a solid contender for this contract.
The Cuckoo Repeater is indeed one of the lightest rifles on the market, but the officials aren't interested in select-fire capability when it's intended to be used at long range for hit-and-run tactics. What's more, the lower stopping power makes it less viable than they'd like.
Again, almost as if it were custom-designed for the contract,
Tommelson and Dowers wins the bid. Congratulations, Oakrose! Two in one year!
Contract: Socialas Assault Teams #50 (Spring 1932, $295)Weapon: AI M27-HC
Pitch: the M27 is a simple but effective submachine gun. It's relatively light, fires faster than the VL P24, and is guaranteed not to pierce walls, like the Honor. Now with a high-capacity magazine.
Weapon: KashKow Kicker: Huntsman
It's not a sub-machinegun, but it is a high capacty, maneuverable, impact resistant weapon that quickly outputs a large volume of projectiles, which is what you're really asking for.
Offered: Woodpecker M28
In the world of automatic weapons, it’s impossible to beat the Woodpecker at being compact. With the stock attached, it’s capable of fully-automatic fire, allowing it to serve the same role as its larger and more ungainly SMG cousins.
Weapon:Honor SMG
Pitch: The Honor is a compact, accurate, easy to control and high capacity smg perfect for your requirements. Beyond that its striking design insure that no one mistakes the elite for the common soldier.
Socialas wants light, maneuverable sub-machineguns with a high rate of fire, and preferably low-penetration and high-capacity magazines.
AI M27-HC has a fire rate of 350 rpm with a drum magazine and a fold-down stock. I don't think I ever specified the caliber, so it fires .45 caliber ammunition. It has no particularly exciting features, but no particularly egregious drawbacks (expecially the HC version which features a pistol foregrip to avoid bumping the magazine release).
The KashKow Kicker is a shotgun, which while admittedly is excellent for close-range combat, does not fit Socialas's desire for a high rate of fire or maneuverability in confined quarters.
The Woodpecker M28 is a select-fire optionally-stocked pistol chambered in 9.8x20mm. The magazine tends to run down far quicker than Socialas would like, but the intriguing design makes them quite interested in acquiring a few for other purposes.
The Honor SMG is a 60 round casket-magazine API blow-forward bullpup monstrosity.
It really boils down to the AI M27-HC and the Honor SMG. Socialas is torn between the two, but the Honor wins by virtue of having a smaller caliber and thus a higher rate of fire and lower penetration value.
Singular Design wins the bid.
Contract: Singula Army Forces #51 (Winter 1932, $310)Weapon: KashKow Hammer
It definitely has a a high-rate of fire, and the required profile for use in a variety of defensive positions. With it's swappable barrel it can also be used for extended periods of time.
bid:VL mg21 A3
a reliable and light air cool mg with quick change barrels ensures sustained fire with only brief interruptions for reloading and replacing barrels.
Offered: Buzzard M18
The Buzzard is a venerable design, but there is still no better substitute for sending a swarm of large-caliber bullets downrange.
Singula's army is looking for a high caliber machinegun with a high firing rate. Most important, however, is the ability for prolonged use in heavy engagements.
The Hammer is a 7.65mm 200-round box-mag canvas-belt 500 rpm air-cooled cage-swap barrel LMG.
The mg21 A3 is a 7mm disintegrating belt-fed air-cooled hot-swap barrel easy-access LMG.
The Buzzard HMG M18 is a double-barreled water-cooled Gast principled 13.5mm AM round 1500 rpm difficult-barrel-swap HMG.
Of the three options presented this year, the venerable Buzzard manages to most closely fit their desires for a heavy high-caliber high-ROF prolonged-engagement machinegun. It's a heavy beast, and the vibrations will rattle the fillings out of your teeth, but boy does it do its job well.
SPOKANE finally wins a bid!
Contract: Unknown Buyer #52 (Winter 1932, $150)Weapon: Halflight V:CE
Pitch: If you want unusual, I'd even say bizarre, you can't go wrong with the Halflight Harpoon Projector- It is a shoulder-fired break-action rifle with a one-inch bore firing impact-fuse ammunition. I guarantee no one else is making one.
Weapon: KashKow Kicker: Huntsman
I guarantee you no one else is going to offer up a shotgun.
Weapon: LSR-28/A
Offer: You will find the LSR-28/A a rather unique rifle for your collection, featuring a whopping 12 round capacity internal magazine while being incredibly light for its size. It is also one of the more accurate iron-sight rifles you will find with a fine-tuning knob for your zeroing unlike any other.
Offered: Vulture M24
Have you ever seen a rifle using direct impingement with a reciprocating barrel? How about one firing 13.5mm anti-tank rounds? Or better yet, a gun with a hand-crank? No? Well, the Vulture speaks for itself.
Weapon:Honor SMG
Pitch: The Honor offers a mix of being a new uncommon submachinegun in a nearly unique bullpup configuration with an unique API blowforward operation. It's also a stylish weapon that's fun to shoot, perfect for showing off to your peers.
The KashKow Kicker is a shotgun, and really the only unusual thing is that it's box-fed. The LSR-28/A is a powerful, light, accurate rifle, but not really unusual in any way beyond its stellar performance characteristics. The Vulture - now
that's an unusual bird. A reciprocating 13.5mm AT rifle with a hand-crank? The buyer can see himself hunting elephants in the savanna with that thing. The Honor SMG is, quite frankly, a bafflingly advanced piece of engineering that seems to have popped out of a time machine. Suffice to say, nothing else in the world like it exists. And the Halflight - it's so delightfully unusual! Who else would think to fire a stick of dynamite out of a shoulder-fired mortar? And it has
barbs, no less!
The buyer honestly can't decide between the Vulture, Honor, and Halflight, and eventually just buys all three. They will look fantastic in his collection!
The Singular Design, SPOKANE, and Aywen Industries each win a copy of this contract.
