Disappear into the ducts. We'll have to slay these fools.

You fly out of the room, dodge a shot fired at you from behind, and burst back into the hallway.  You fly upwards, tear up the vent cover and somehow squeeze yourself into the vents you thought were too small for you, and push yourself along and out of sight.

A moment later you hear the hatch open again and someone say "Huh?  Where'd it go?"  There's also some more commotion inside the mess hall.

Current location, Vents!  Deck 8?

Well we're in the vents now I guess we might as well explore them since we're here.

(8)

The vents run to all the rooms you've previously enjoyed, except for a few differences:

Going up and down is easy, but you see something blocking the way several decks down from the stairway.

The vent to the Animal Lab is reinforced and has two sturdy grates with an extra fan between them.  It's blocked.

The vents leading beyond normally secured doors aren't.  At least the one leading to the Portside Armoury isn't.  You aren't sure about the one one deck further up.

Head to the armory. We need to arm ourselves!

Head to the armory. We need to arm ourselves!

You break out through the vents from above.  It's noticeably easier from this side, you have much better leverage.

Inside the armory is a desk with a full metal cage around it.  An unmanned desk.  There's a slot in the middle that you squeeze yourself through, getting to the secure side.  It's loaded with strange objects.

There are cases of what must be weapons, thanks to the 'armoury' word outside.  Probably about a hundred of them in total.  There are long weapons that are longer than you are, and seem very heavy.  There are also small ones, easily suitable for human hands and seem small enough for you to carry and maybe use, if you can figure them out.  There are also many other miscellaneous hard to identify objects.  Big things attached to the walls by thick power cables, with spaces for small things to be put inside them.  Rows of those same small things, on the opposide wall.  There is also another case of the small human electric-firing weapons, and a few more nets and pointy sticks.

I didn't actually think this through.

Grab something small that still seems like a weapon, then experiment with making it defend us.

Of the two, the electric-shooting one seems slightly easier to handle.  You manage to figure out how to shoot it, and it seems to take about a minute before this light on top turns blue, and it's ready to shoot again.  You knew a little about how it worked, as you got zapped by it once for trying to escape your cage.  It knocks people out with lightning, and you end up on the floor.

Hmm.  You're really starting to get a bit peckish at this point.  Doesn't seem like there's much edible in here, the counter is metal, as are the grates.  And the racks and such are made of hard plastic.

You also drop the gray keycard so you can carry the weapon.

What next?

Fly back into the vents, and find a room with some food to eat.

There are two that come to mind.  The room with the human corpse and the plant room.  And most rooms, really, a lot of them have paper.

Which one?
