It's dark inside the hatch.  The walls are very soft and squishy, but you can't see what you're touching.  You can smell water.

Might need to go back for one of the flash lights but first lets see what that squishy stuff on the walls tastes like, also drink some water we might be dehydrated.

It's very soft and tough, squishing away whenever you try to cut into it or push a bit.  It's also dry.  You smell water, but you're standing on something that is itself dry.

Right.

You put down your lockpicks and grab a flashlight.

The inside of the chamber is a massive thick squishy container of water.  It's very hard and strong, far tougher than normal materials.  There are other bags in the wall, and another bag above you, in the upper part of the chamber.

You push into the chamber.  As you shove, the bags sort of flow around you, and although you're restricted to the seams between bags, you can make progress through them.

You push through them, down, up a bit, until you hit a wall of bag or a more literal wall, a big piece of strange metal that you aren't familiar with, it isn't the stuff of normal hallways.

After a good few minutes exploring the walls and bags, you hear an immense bang and the wall shudders, once.  Ripples run through the chamber.

Hopefully that bang wasn't our fault, anyway this room isn't near as interesting as it sounded so let us leave it and reclaim our lockpick.

You swap back to your lockpick and fly through the hallways again.

When you return to the crossroads, the image has changed.  It's now a picture of a large oval thing.. maybe where you are now?  There's a yellow marker labelled "Portside Outer Deck 9", and a big red area on the lower left side, labelled "Hull breach, Portside Outer Deck 2."

The escape pods are on the deck below, so you fly down the ladder.

Huh, they're right there, just aft of the next crossroads down.  Deck 8 looks almost identical to deck 9, with hatches leading fore, aft, and inwards, along with another ladder leading further down.

The escape pods are along the wall, a single row of about forty of them, about two thirds of which have red flashing lights outside them.  One third have green lights.  They're simple things, with closed doors and windows.

Look easy to operate with a single lever protected by a small plastic cover.
