Look at the wires and try to find a black wire, pull it lose then poke it against all the other wires until something happens.

This hurts.  You shock yourself twice, but manage to only somewhat hurt yourself.  The clenching feeling goes away after a minute, and fortunately Invisibird doesn't come for you while you're stunned.

And then you hear a click, a green light turns on, and the door is unlocked.

(9+1)

Charging, you land on the handle and push the door open.  Just a bit.  You follow it to the ground, propping the door open against a spring force that's trying to close it on you, just barely holding it open.  Now that you're on the ground, you have the door just barely open, with one leg and the tip of your beak through it.

Looks like it’s time to flex our muscles!  Open the door further.  Enough so that we can get around it and into the next room without getting trapped by the door or otherwise injuring ourselves.

That's the issue.. you can go through to the next room, but this door is closing behind you if you do that.  You're still a pretty small bird.

Cursed Stealth Eagle!  Why does it have to be so stealthy?

Ca-

The stealth eagle shoves you through the door, prying it open and forcing you out past it.  For some reason, you never considered just telling the invisible bird what you wanted to do.  At this moment, that seems to have been a mistake.

The door slams shut behind you as you struggle back onto your feet in the hallway.

Hmm.

This is a hallway.  There's a dozen doors down it, with a big metal powered one at one end.

..Checking it from the far end, they're all labelled "Lab X".  Yours is Lab 7.  The hallway is metal, covered with a rubbery anti-skid coating.  It's not tasty.  The lights are inside recessed strips, covered in some clear hard material, keeping the entire hallway brightly lit.

From this side the door locks seem more formidable.  The metal plates are there, but the controls are hardened.  Instead of cheap plastic covers, they're metal ones, and you can't see any recessed holes for screws like on this side.  The doors also have swing arms holding them closed.  That's the spring force you had to overcome to open them.

Listening at the doors..

#1 and #2 you hear dogs talking to each other there.  You don't speak dog, but there seems to be more than one in each room.

#6, the one next to yours, has some kind of squeaking sounds you can't identify.

#12, the last one at the dead end has some faint, slow breathing sounds.  For you to hear them through the door, whatever is in there must be really big.

The far wall, and the big door's wall, are both made of hard metal.

The big door..

It's big, it looks very thick and sturdy, and there's a bright red strobe light above it.  It's painted with "Exit to Deck 9, Portside Sector A."

The strobelight says "Lockdown in Progress when Strobe is Lit".  There are no visible controls on the door, but you see a small button next to an arrangement of tiny holes in the wall.  A microphone?

There's one last surface to check, the ceiling.  There are some covered vents there, ones that look big enough to accomodate you, but the grates..  you can't break them, and unscrewing them requires something to stand on.  You can't fly up there and unscrew them before you fall back to the ground, and unlike with the fume hood, you can't chimney yourself up on the walls.

Hmm.  This is a bit of a pickle.  Fortunately, you're not yet hungry.

Push this button and say human words at it like help and I'm trapped.

You push the button.  There's a buzz.

"Help, I'm trapped."

A voice comes in through the tiny holes.

"Sector 9 Animal Lab?  You should have been out of there days ago.  What happened?"
