The big cabinets up high contain heavy stuff, and you have to crawl around inside them to look at everything.  There's a couple very large glass beakers, big enough for you to crawl inside, as well as a couple of other strange ones with funny shapes, more than one neck, flat bottoms, round bottoms, all sorts.  There's another machine that hooks up to a broad cloth thing that sort of smells edible but not tasty.

There's also a bunch of different kinds of plastic tubing.

It's locked!

But the key is one of the ones from the desk.  It's a bit of work, but you can insert the key with your beak while leaning over the top edge.

There is a very great amount of paper, this time arranged in folders with meaningless names.

The bottom two drawers are much more intersting.  At least interesting since you aren't really hungry yet.

One of them has folders with lots of interesting pictures, including some that look like the machines in the room, as well as other, unseen machines.

The bottom one has a lockbox, this one you don't have the key for.  But it's weak.  A bit of work with your lockpick and it pops open.

Inside is more paper, in a whole set of colours and flavors, many with clear distinct scents.  You eat one automatically.  Really tasty, sort of halfway between paper and cloth.  And there's quite a bit here!

There is also a small toy that is squishy like rubber.  It looks like one of your non-flying cousins.

Papers!  A half dozen notebooks full of hundreds of sheets.  One big chunky binder that's far too big to move.
Keys!  A ring of lock keys including a big funny one with a plastic bit on the end.
Flashlight!  Fits nicely in your mouth.  Lights up when you press the button on the end.  Your tongue works pretty good.
Block of yellow notes.  Yellow sticky sheets.  These are fun.
Book of matches.  You've seen humans use these before to light stuff on fire.  You don't think you can do that yourself, but you're feeling a little more capable that usual today.

There's some flat electric things with discoloured tops, bit too heavy for you to pick up.  Some other flat white things with clean tops, a box full of tiny heavy white things that look like large pills, a couple metal things with hoses attached to them.. they smell like fire.

The drawers at the top contain a bunch of small cups and spoons, whole sets of them in different sizes with numbers on them.  More beakers, ranging from small ones that you can carry easily to ones that are only a bit smaller than you, all shapes and sizes.  There are test tubes, and test tube racks, eyedroppers, and a huge rubber eyedropper with a rubber top.

There is also something you know the name for.  A microscope.  Humans are always putting something on little glass slides and looking carefully at it through this thing.  There's also a box full of hundreds of the little glass bits.

It's also another thing a bit too heavy to pick up.  Maybe you can get it on the ground?

Next drawer.. metal knives, some small and very sharp ones.  There are two black knives that are set aside for some reason.  A few metal spoons, very shiny, and a couple of small rolls of very fine, really, really shiny wire.  And a round ceramic bowl with a short ceramic rod thing.

It hums.  Once you open it, it hums louder!

Inside is a bunch of jars and boxes, all full of stuff.  It's also cold inside, much cooler than the room.

Along the top there are five vertical jars with clear liquids, screw caps, and simple one-word labels.  Can't tell what they are.

One of the boxes holds sugar.  The other ones have plain white powder in them and don't smell appetizing.  They're labelled simply too.

At the bottom are two special jars.  One of them has metallic foil around the top, strapped to the side of it, above a screw top, such that the foil will need to be broken to screw open the jar.  The glass is also slightly yellowish, while the other liquids are clear.  The last jar has a rubber top to it, like a squeeze bottle or your dripper, and is full of a white substance.

Something does hear it.  In the next room you hear a loud thump. and a bang.  You fly back on top of your cage, and although the sound settles down, you obviously woke something up in the next room.  Not the one with the keypad, the one that's a simple door.

You hear more thumping and noises, but, oddly, no calls or barks or other sounds like that.  Maybe it's in another cage?  But then why isn't it speaking?

You grab one of the beakers to weigh the handle down enough to let you pry open the door with your beak.  It works!  And then the glass beaker falls off and smashes itself onto the floor.  But the door is open and that's the important thing.

This next room isn't carpeted, it's just a spot by the door.  And it's a strange carpet, all tight black weave and feels almost like little wires instead of cloth.

I suppose that might be because you once ate a bit of carpet, so they got one you couldn't eat.  Hmm.

This cage has only one long steel bench, with a small square machine at the end.  It's drawers are full of hand tools.. every kind of small tool you've ever seen and more.

But more important is the large cage, similar to yours.  Except it's empty.  And quiet.  Whatever was in here was noisy when you were in the other room, but now that you're inside, it's quiet.

There's food, a bit different than the normal food they used to give you, and lots of it.  Big boxes of it, and a larger feeder, which is now empty.  There's a larger water dispenser that's still partly full, and a big standalone drum full of water to fill it.

The door is also significantly larger than yours, too, but from outside it shouldn't be too hard to open.  If you want to.
