I do not understand the first paragraph of your last post.

As for the second paragraph, there is not such thing as a "Spell" card. There are cards with hearts that stay on the field, and cards without hearts that do not.

At this point, I feel the best thing to do would be to just re-write the card's text in such a way that there cannot be more than one interpretation.

Probobly. I didn't actually think it's second shot could be activated after turn start as is. I just thought it was an extension of the first that was optional, but directly after the first.

Dalloc draws. She slaps the card down on the table. There is not a moments hesitation.

"I play Backfire."

Another car, spitting more flames than fumes, roars by, crashing into Dalloc's side of the board. She draws like a woman possessed... and then her claws squeeze hard enough they threaten to tear the cards.

"I play a Refinery."

In fields of wreckage and ruin, industry marches on.

"End turn."

A ghostly eel meats a mysterious end. A sheep causes chaos among the refinery.  (Should have remembered to attack the refinery last turn.)

A young girl in red uniform arrives on the field, carefully brandishing a simple pistol.

"My Skiff attacks your ghost."
The Ferryman's boat skims across unseen water, and he reaches out, grabbing onto the Mysterious Ghost as the fog sweeps them away.

"End turn. Hook."

Pacifist is just petting it. So fluffy, even as storm clouds gather on the horizon. A Refinery collapses into dust.

(Oh dear, I hope you're not like, actually out of options with a 25 card deck, because I've kinda been planning something for the whole game and am going to be dramatically disappointed if this ends before I can pull it off.)
