"So what did you do, before the liberation? I was in manufacturing, and military forces." Maria smiles.
"I was a breeding drone."
You never heard of a breeding drone, but your brain is giving you ideas and each seems worse than previous.
"Breeding?"
"Yes. Various families would pay my owners to let their sons and heirs, well, do the thing, because their potential brides weren't worthy, or there was some genetic thing preventing stuff, and so on. I was a perfect receptable for the inferior seed, you know?" Maria drinks the remainder of her Creme Blanco. "Since I reached maturity and began my drone duties, I have given birth to 17 children."
"Are you okay with all that?"
"Well... when I was liberated, the New Galactic Federation government helped me locate families of four of my 'children' so far. I was compensated with a lot of credits for my ordeals. I would be a hypocrite if I said I didn't profit from my liberation in more than one way. And I still have thirteen families to go, if I'm low on funds." You pry your eyes from Maria when the bartending console sounds a ping.
