"We did well, but this was merely sparring. We'll see what a real fight holds."

Rykve held out a hand to help Nicoletta back to her feet.

[GiglameshDespair]

A tap of her hand got the ballistician repaired. Vervain rose to her feet, tapping the base of her staff on the ground with a clack-clack.

"Anyone needing a fix-up, raise a hand, please."
  "If both are missing, raise a foot instead."
She went among the wounded, healing them as she went.

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Just don't hold back and we will be fine."

Watson approaches the others, dusting off her sleeves and adjusting her collar.
"Nobody is too hurt, right?"

[Gaterhyme]

"Suicide charge? They were plenty intimidated, they just did that because he told them to."

Uncurling herself as the pain subsided, Nicoletta allowed Rykve to help her up. He'd tried to intercept the horseman at least. She'd have been a lot happier if he'd been more successful at that, but she wasn't about to refuse his help.

"My organs had better still be in place," Nicoletta continued grousing, even though Vervain had already moved away and the only wounded thing left was her pride.

Rykve nodded to Nicoletta as she stood before turning to the others.

"I'm fine, Watson. Our Sister is good at her job."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"All the more reason to not let your guard down no matter how favorable the situation is."

[Gaterhyme]

"When I'm aiming my machine - which works as it should! - I can't outrun a horse," Nicoletta said with just a bit of frustration seeping into her tone. "My 'guard' is you guys."

She crossed her arms and leaned on her machine, trying not to do so too huffily, aware there was a certain irony that she was the one left complaining after what she'd told the opposing team earlier.

"Yeah, I can be more careful, just... don't pin it all on me."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Fair enough."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"No harm, no foul. No use lingering on the past. We got through that fine, then."
Watson adjusts her glasses.
"With that level of work, this could be an intriguing partnership."

[Sora]

"Apologies in that matter Miss Nicoletta, I will make certain that you won't be in harm's way next time!" the Mage apologized, as if she personally was at fault for the fact that one of her crewmates was downed. Elyna looked quite guilty, and seemed to avert eye contact with anybody else.

Watson calmly claps Elyna's shoulder.
"Don't linger on your failure. Especially if it wasn't your failure to begin with. Move on to the next task. You will perform better if you focus."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Outside the Cathedral, I think everyone in this city is in harm's way, darling. If they didn't expect you to get your bones rattled occasionally, the Guard wouldn't have asked for Sisters such as I."

[Gaterhyme]

"Geez. Don't start saying sorry, that's too far the other way." She wasn't even going to start with the "miss" stuff.

"Who knows if you guys could've even stopped that, all I was saying is it wasn't all on me for getting launched when I can't do much about it by design. That's all."

If a certain someone hadn't left, if she could still deliver a thunder-imbued discharge as close range deterrence, maybe things could have been different. But that was why she was here in the first place anyway. She had to make do.

"The people we fight in the future may be equally cowardly and try to slip past me. They won't be armed with padded poles and blunt swords, either. I'll do my best to protect you but I can't be everywhere at once."
