Nicoletta leaned on her machine once she was done reloading, her instincts keeping her alert for anything unexpected even if she didn't look it anymore.

"Order or not, we're guarding a whole lot of nothing now if the raid's over. We've really got to wait until someone tells us?"

She wasn't relishing that thought if it turned out to be that Dragoon Squad captain again.

Rykve was also thinking about Captain Logan. An obnoxious man, to be sure, but a very efficient one. Something to aspire to in one way and something to disregard in the other. He turned to Nicoletta.

They all knew the guard force was a joke compared to the gangs and the Dragoon Squad, but she wasn't going to contest whatever Rykve was saying. If they did build a reputation - to be trusted or to be feared - it was better for her chances of sheltering under them anyway.

Nicoletta puffed out her chest at the mention of her machine. She had already mentioned this yesterday but she didn't mind reminding people about it a couple dozen times more than necessary.

"Of course I built it. You won't catch anyone else firing it, and a machine like this doesn't maintain itself."
