The Harvest TalesOur seedkeepers, already an important part of our society, faced an issue. With an increasing divide between landed pastoralists and the more loosely organized gatherers, they found themselves struggling to fit into the growing population. So, during one gathering around the great baobab, they began to take apprentices - not unusual. However, what was notable was that these large groups of apprentices were chosen from both herder and gathering families, in order to ensure their knowledge reached all parts of society. These groups of apprentices would be organized under each Seedkeeper and follow their lead within each Seedkeeper's zone of wandering and took up aspects of the work, unintentionally specializing each in a part of the seed spreading process. This bled into the tales as well, with the apprentices, directed by their leader, telling them piece by piece, parts of a whole.
Travelling StorytellersOur seedkeepers, already an important part of our society, faced an issue. With an increasing divide between landed pastoralists and the more loosely organized gatherers, they found themselves struggling to fit into the growing population. So, during one gathering around the great baobab, they decided to change. No more would each Seedkeeper (and their apprentices) be constrained by a any landmark. Rather, each would be able to choose whether they would return and tell the stories of the Baobab, or if they would follow the great grazing wildebeest herds, teaching and planting in their wake.
