That's actually not a bad idea...

Walks into the first arena

It appearx to be a circus. Protagonist thinks it's just a joke, pushes his way through to find his opponent. Twist: some of the clowns have guns.

Russel Crowe's character waits for a appropriate moment to say "Are you not entertained?"

Que funny/badass reply "I will have satisfaction!"
