The axe swing was slow, predictable. Lijsbeth held her horse back only a moment so the bandit's weapon met only air, then wheeled around to follow up Stefan's attack with another thrust at the swordsman who had wounded Levi.

The door opened, revealing a cramped room, stuffed with old boxes and heaps of clothes stacked on each other. A chest was tucked in the corner.

The chest contained a few hundred coins, some jewellery and a small gemstone or three. No doubt this was the 'treasure hoard' of the bandits.

On top of the pile, their newest addition: a sacred pendant of the Sisters' faith, a seven pointed star. The initials 'Gn.Vis' were engraved on the back.
