Hmm. Yeah. Maybe somehow limit it's options to getting in the eyes and stunning, burning, or damaging them specifically? And such things like that.

I wonder when throwing will get fixed downgraded. I've taken out two ettins by knocking them out with clumps of dirt, and then strangling their throats. Something about having each hand strangling a seperate neck is awesome.

Wait, so you were strangling both two-headed giants... at the same time? Like, you were strangling both of each of their necks with one hand? Sweeeeeet.

Eh, no. I suppose that was a writing error, I killed two separate ettins (different places, different time) that way.

Throwing stuff is always good for laughs, I decided to butcher a human town and got this.

The spinning vomit strikes The human Child in the lower body!
It explodes in gore!
The human Child is propelled away by the force of the blow!
The human Child slams into an obstacle!
Duli Tomcabugi, human Child has been struck down.

I guess people in DF are just insanely good at hurling.

The spleen is bruised.
The stomach is bruised.
The elf Trader looks nauseous.
The elf Tader vomits.
The spinning vomit strikes the naked mole dog in the lower body.

And so on.  :P

And now to ponder the age old question... Why do these people get up in the morning? Don't they know they're going to face painful, plentiful, and pointless death? The second one can fashion a lethal weapon out of a few seconds time taken observing nature's rules regarding bodily functions, you'd think that these people would just give up on life!

Then again, I presume too much. But you almost hope for common sense to prevail in these worlds we make.

I rather like to imagine that the dwarves and everyone else, though bumbling idiots with no sense of ration or perspective, are completely genre savvy about the bizare world they inhabit.  Though that does raise the question of why no one but adventurers guided by mysterious forces bother chucking stuff at people as a weapon.

Anyone ever gotten a good look at a tantruming dwarf throwing stuff?  Is it as absurdly destructive as adventure mode?

Yes. I couldn't fulfill a glass requirement for a mood so the worker who was a mother with a baby went berserk and killed the baby and threw it's body at a nearby dog which exploded into gore (a few body parts). Then she realized what she did and grew melancholy from the death of her child and threw herself off my 20 z-level tower/waterfall where she landed in a moat and broke into dwarf body parts that flew as far as a screen away. Her other son, saddened by the loss of a parent and sibling, threw himself into magma.

It appears only tantrummers throw stuff in fortress mode.

This has to be the reason dwarfs don't exist anymore.

If only this game was created before stuff like Lord of the Rings series and DnD! Image all the epic stories of dwarves throwing baby legs and vomit at crushing the skulls of elven traders. Hell, the Hobbit is the story of a bunch of ill tempered dwarves reclaiming a dragon-infested fortress and pissing off elves and humans in the process.... it'd certainly spin a whole new light on the Mines of Moria, though.

The Balrog would just be a Spirit of Fire that was left behind in an abandoned fort...

Actually, retroactively applying DF rules to Lord of the Rings is quite fun.
