1st Granite 181

It is I the illustrious Avolition coming to you in writing on the 1st of Granite 181. When I took charge things were looking good, I had heard reports of a band lead by a sword dwarf carrying a faded banner of The Whirling Quakes. I looked and it was her, Mosus Knifeclose. She had been a hero to me growing up, hunter of beasts she would take on any foe. No one had seen her in years we thought she was..

Dead, she is dead. Twisted back to life by a death god. The smell was what first hit me, the wind wafted the stench southward. Then I looked towards the party she was with, rotted looking pointy ears and those creatures of charcoal. I yelled for everyone to get inside, I tried to ask the merchants to join us but they pointed to their caravan guards. I sealed the doors and walled them up. Its back to classic dwarven life for a time


7th Granite 181

Death, it's flys on charcoal wings,

16th Granite 181

It's a sign, my goddess and our order. This must be her will. Vesh Ghostphatom, goddess of death, I will make you proud. I have ordered the dwarves to build a temple and crypt. To appease Vesh. It took some convincing but they are willing to give it a go. Delphonso wasn’t too happy about it. Bloody traitor, he left the dead cult last year it is probably what has angered Vesh.

12th Slate 181

Progress is going well but I have noticed we have a lack of bedrooms and the tavern is a dirt hole. Will plan on expanding and improving after the temple. In good news Vesh has blessed us, on the site of her temple is rich with gems of many types. This is a sign of hers.

28th Felsite 181

End of spring report, I see most of the space has been dug out and we are still finding all these beautiful gems. A blessing of Vesh is it not. The necromancer army is still hanging around but they will eventually get bored I'm sure. I see brewer Bob is already making use of the fated temple.

Will post about the rest of my year soon. TLDR - Still trapped underground be we have a large temple and a massive crypt that is in the process of been engraved. We have had a few brave champions try and rescue us but die leaving behind some artifacts.

I really wanted to do an old London bridge build with houses and what not on the bridge but it was undead siege instantly. Also flying necromancer beast so no tunneling to the other side of the river.

Sign me up for another turn please.

As our fortress' death cult now has an official presence, it bears reminding that our world does have such enlightening texts as "The Student's Immortality", and "The Pursuit of the Afterlife".
That's a very nice crypt by the way. With luck we won't have to use it too much.

I guess it's on to Obsidian Short Sword's turn!

I am getting endless cancelation spams about hauling items when I opened a hole in the wall.

1. check for burrows, and dwarves assigned to burrows. also check for military alerts forcing civilians into burrows.
2. look for items that dwarves are pathing to, but cannot actually reach. You can use the manager menu to list all hauling tasks and work from there.
3. plug the wall and pretend the outside world no longer exists. we are now deep dwarves

Alright, I fixed it, Some migrants arrived and picked up some junk that was blocking the way.

Good shout, hope the undead siege ends as i was looking forward to bridge work but atleast we got a death cult. Any of the new migrants follow worshipers?
