You've done an excellent job scaring away my backliners there, WR. Most of them did find their way back after, but not all of them. It was surprisingly effective. And I must say, I completely did not plan for the eventuality of your pretender being there, so it could have messed me up to an unpredictable degree. Still, the sheer weight of troops would probably prevail all the same and you'd be short a pretender.

I think storm preventing flying, wailing winds hitting morale, wrathful skies further hurting morale, and another turn of summoning chaff would've had a decent chance. But the existence of magic duel means it can only be done once (and by surprise), and I couldn't get the non-demon chaff to make it plausible anywhere else.

Hmm, could be. Still, storm would give all the air elementals I had queued in the pipeline a nice boost. But my gandharvas having to grind through the gates instead of murdering your mages could indeed take long enough to start a rout. I guess we'll never know now.

I was surprised to see it worked at all, though. Nobody there had particularly low morale to begin with - maybe the atavi archers. But I had a whole big squad of 20-morale units rout on round 3 or so. Not sure how that happened.

Yeah, so I think I'm going to be procrastinating my turns for the foreseeable future. For all my posturing the recent events are not an easy situation to manage.
I guess I'll ask if you fine lot would be ok with joining me in feeding this horrible personal flaw and agree to a 72h hosting period. Such long periods between turns run a bit of a risk of gradually killing the interest in continuing for some players, so I understand if you'd rather keep it at the current 48h.
