The whining and bitching was clearly written in jest, though. It's a long-running joke that it's part of Dominions meta to do just that, so as to elicit support. No need to feel offended or snap back. However, you're clearly agitated by the whole drama, so it's understandable and I'm sure all is forgiven.

Now, can we maybe drop this topic before it gets out of hand? The spectators will complain, but I think it's high time for less talking, more giant bashing.

Ah, so this is the part of the diplomatic game where Azthor, Lord of Fomoria bitches and whines so people give them stuff.  As presumably, they only need hold out for a few turns before the tide turns.  Better for everyone else to have two crippled neighbors than one large neighbor.

Perhaps someone who didn't know the start of basic turn resolution sequence until their enemy took pity and lectured them on it, and who somehow thinks a 100 pearl, S9, Alteration 9 spell is in any way conceivable as 'essential', should be more careful of whom they tell are "whining and bitching"?

My apologies, it was my intention to give sound diplomatic advice in a humorous way.
In fact, I was encouraging you to emulate my prior conduct.
But maybe I shouldn't comment so much from the Peanut Gallery.

Ya know, I can guarantee there'd be a whole lot more harmony and peace if everyone just took a day off from this squabbling and did something relaxing like going to the beach. Just sit, and listen to the gentle sounds of the tide rushing in, then receding. Feel the the warmth of the sun on your dry, flaky skin. Wade out into the shallows and feel the cool water all around you. Submerge yourself in the soothing waters for a moment, and let the waves pass over your head, not bothering you and you not bothering them. Just, ya know, relax. Close your eyes and forget all this nonsense; just BE in the moment. Feel the currents wriggle gently across your scalp like a soothing tendril of peace and tranquility. Relax, and forget all this pointless conflict. Just enjoy where you are, in content blind silence, while the cool water embraces you, caresses you, and slips into your ears and blowholes. This bickering is so silly and pointless. We don't really want to fight, do we? We're all friends here. It's just a game. RELAX.

I don't know about that. My aunt spent her holidays at the beach last summer. Now there's this weird polyp growing out of her ear, and she drones on and on about a new star in the sky or some such nonsense. Would not recommend.

There are also the sharks to worry about. Weird, hairy sharks with a fin shaped liked a katana, but definitely just sharks.

Perhaps the spectator's lust for blood may be sated with next turn's arena results?

I wanted to send a scout named "Agartha's Best Fighter" for the meme, but I have none to spare :(

Dai Oni vs Jotun Jarl in the final or bust.

That is alright, this message honestly makes it (feel) much better, so thank you, and my apologies too, in that case.

I'm not saying you're wrong - your argument is certainly convincing - but I really think it's important for you to take advantage of your ability to independently think for yourself as an autonomous individual. Don't let her bad trip deny you a chance to open yourself to an experience that could be profoundly deep, unknown, and mind-blowing. Life is so very short - you should try things out for yourself while you still can. Seize the day and be your own master - taking a trip to the sea could really change your mind!

Wow, look at this, I decide things are getting a little too fraught and to lay off playing Niefel's messenger boy for a turn, and what happens? I get scolded! Anyway, the arena was a single very disappointing match between an unblessed Jotun herse and a barbarian commander I sent in as a joke, and I don't want any crypt fiends looking into where I sleep, so here you go:

Spoiler: messages (click to show/hide)

Anyway, I give a lot of respect to the pre-hoc trash talk. You get no credit from me for talking big after you smash someone.

Drains always a bit harsh, especially on a blood nation, but Gygja are pretty decent both as researchers and as blood mages for it I guess. Not sure I'd do it but doesn't sound too crazy.

Edit: Sounds like it's not going to pay off though if it's not going as planned though. So, lol rip.

Dear Narrator, but what did go (not) in their favour? Come, since we're getting to read private messages like that, you should also describe in gory detail the horrible battles that have ensued. We demand our entertainment!

That message was the result of Niefel going straight forward and letting a stack they otherwise had ambushed essentially slip behind their lines. I, of course, wanted Niefel to get pissed and chase after it; which I can tell you they did not.

That stack - which I was bold with because it was diseased - is now dead, after achieving something of strategical import that more or less paid for itself, but mostly only breaking even, rather than resulting in an edge.

My other messages to him have been mostly humorous. The war has been terribly unbloody, but a logistical nightmare for me and a logistical paradise for Niefel.

Some dead elephant mercenaries, three dead elves. A dead PD dump. A dead jotun scout. 9 dead Unmarked.

Do you know how many circumstances have to align to fight off chill aura regenerating giants, even in Heat, since chill aura got buffed in Dom5?

Getting raided when your actual army can't safely fight even raiding forces, and their every force is movement 18, is a very unpleasant experience

I am, of course, most unhappy at having to fight someone who basically burnt themselves at the altar of the earlygame - and I am not talking just about pretender design, but what Niefel has been doing with its fort turns and money the entire game.

And playing province dance of death with irreplaceable units makes you double think every move as much as you'd expect.

Niefel's own boast now is that it has, de facto, seized most of my territory - and it has.
