Oh, so he doesn't send in-game messages with his side of the drama to everybody? I'm feeling so special right now.
Oh no, he does.

It is pure tragedy that now that there's bay12 dominions drama that I get to watch form the sidelines eating popcorn that I can only see half of it :(. Plz fix your account situation ThtblovesDF so I get to see your side of the argument as well :P

He claims to have self-caused the situation (being unable to access his account) by trying to change his email due to discomfort over my having 'stalked' him, basically.

Edit: edited for accuracy, so it is integrally true to his message.

Niefel has asked me to send him the evidence that he had broken a pact with Fomoria.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I submit as Exhibit 1, a statement by the Defendant.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It is respectfully submitted that Exhibit 1 contains a confession of the Defendant's crime.

Agartha rests its case.

(and, more seriously, before this turn, I'd gotten copies of the messages which Niefel is referring to in that second spoiler)

Your honors, I'm just a simple country Pantokrator from a backwater early age nation, but it seems to me that it's clear that my client, Niefelheim is purely innocent of the crimes leveled against him! He was simply offered a war from his neighbor Fomoria, and in the good spirit of competition, he went ahead and accepted that there offer. Now that Formorias feeling some buyers remorse why he's gone and tried to paint Niefelheim as some sorta backstabbing deal breaker, but ifin he didn't want war, why'd he make it part of discussion over them there provinces in the first place?

Dismissed preliminarily without prejudice. Passive illegitimacy recognized. Ineptitude of the complaint; small glaciers do not have legal personhood and cannot be parts in litigation. As the defendant has already offered challenge, estoppel of the plantiff's right to ammend the initial pleading is in effect.

--

Niefel made a one-sided three province claim, and asked me what I thought of it. I told him I didn't find it agreeable but that I'd accept if he'd let me have a different indie province I found relevant at the time as a potential expansion route, given my existing border agreements elsewhere; I also said if that one province was very important to him, he could claim it, but that then I wanted the three on my island for the chokepoint and fort placement.

Capital circles were never mentioned in our exchanges.

He then acted arrogantly and condescendingly, and said I'd made no counter-offer (yes, I know this makes no sense based on what I just wrote, but he often has that kind of lapse, without any explanation, and I don't know if he is doing it on purpose or has some sort of comprehension issue).

He also said he'd gone out of his way to leave me a path to expand north. Said path was, unknown to him, literally in my capital circle, showing he was lying again, and I had a border treaty with my northern neighbour I implicitly told him I was not breaking.

THEN I told him I knew he had a record of backstabbing and had been lying, and that he should either negotiate earnestly or just declare war, if he think he can make one-sided claims negotiating in bad faith.

I also made sure to emphasize that having an early war with Fomoria McLightningHeat3, would probably cripple him, even if he won, and that between his extremely high DomStr (9+) and his lies, were I to publicize them, he'd probably have neighbours jumping in while he tried to attack me.

Since we've got popcorn munchers in the gallery, figure I might as well memorialize the global communications for the record.

I do not recall creating a new Bay12 account to require mod approval
It does. I really hope we have volunteer mods and it's not Toady sifting through these.
Or maybe no one is sifting through them. The last person to successfully register was 2 weeks ago.

Ah, the Final Question!
Do you agree to hang up & eliminate Niefel to end the message nonsense spam, or agee to keep Niefel around for the End Game because they're too entertaining to die?

I'm Team Niefel. Go Niefel, go!

Honestly, I think Niefelheim is very likely to win - it is a particularly horrid early game match up for me (much like it'd be, in inverse, a particularly horrid mid game match up for Niefelheim), and I can already tell I made two objective mistakes (which I will elaborate upon from my grave, rather than immediately, just in case).

Niefelheim has a Regeneration/Chill Aura bless, with Dominion Strength 9+, Cold 3, Misfortune 1 and Drain 3. It is impossible to push their dominion back strategically this early, and it is incredibly difficulty to defeat the niefels in battle with the early game state of research.

Their giants are map movement 18, and that actually matters extra in this map, as they are far less affected by the  province arrangement.

Niefelheim massed Jotun Herses as cheap sacreds, and while they are nowhere near as troublesome as the Niefel Giants on their own, they give his army a great ability to subdivide by using the Jotun Herses as subcommanders - an ability greatly magnified by the 18 movement and PD essentially not mattering for a handful of giants.

Meanwhile, bygone are the days of Niefelheim's PD being horrid.

Is it all advantages? No, of course Niefelheim pays dearly for that by essentially not having much of a midgame - but that doesn't much matter for who is fighting their first war. And, like I implied, there -was- something I could and should have done knowing I neighboured Niefel.

Ah, so this is the part of the diplomatic game where Azthor, Lord of Fomoria bitches and whines so people give them stuff.  As presumably, they only need hold out for a few turns before the tide turns.  Better for everyone else to have two crippled neighbors than one large neighbor.

Perhaps someone who didn't know the start of basic turn resolution sequence until their enemy took pity and lectured them on it, and who somehow thinks a 100 pearl, S9, Alteration 9 spell is in any way conceivable as 'essential', should be more careful of whom they tell are "whining and bitching"?
