Power Vacuums & Dead Leaders
« on: June 07, 2008, 01:36:00 am »

So, when you kill a Civilization Leader in Adventure Mode (Or Fortress mode I guess) is there some succession that takes place? I've heard of retired characters becoming leaders, but that's it..

I killed a Kobold civ leader in a micro world and a Demon, and while the History file I exported from the Legends shows them both deceased, it doesn't show any new leaders.

I've never seen a mayor come back when you kill him, so I'm guessing it's not implemented yet. Once the legends and the like get implemented during regular gameplay, ruler succession during play and out of play will most likely happen.

So I guess no one has seen any replacement leaders in the new version?

And what ever did happen to the old "retire your character -> they become a leader" thing?

I don't know about the current version, but I used to get attacked by several druids in a row when slaughtering an elven retreat. Once I got two mayors in a town.

zogundar: I actually haven't seen that happen in a long, long while actually, so most likely it's been taken out (for some reason).

The retired adventurers becoming leaders thing, you mean, or leader replacements?

While playing a world from 38c in 39c I've seen (obliterated) a elven retreat with two druids.

I've actually never seen leader replacements.

But I was referring to retired adventurers.

The second one was probably their civ leader, sadly.

Sadly? Right.
I mean that in the sense that it wasn't a redundant or replacement leader.
