No, the flesh balls simply wait to receive punishment...  although they can shriek in pain and pass out.

Playing a flesh ball is really boring, but you can do it.  I think you can still move in travel mode, so you could plop yourself down in a town to be attacked.  I'm going to try that out.

Here I am as a purple-blooded flesh ball making new friends:

As you can see from the picture above this one, I managed to get individual blood colors working...  flesh ball blood can be any color.

I also added in some other materials (or at least half-assed versions of them).  The guy with the axe on the right has what looks like an obsidian stocked hand axe with a bronze blade.

The chunks of sliced-off flesh look good.

I can't remember the original discussion about the flesh balls, though. Are they like the concept of a "spherical pig", or some sort of plant with animal flesh?

Also, this just reminded me of something. It's not a big or particularly important point, but is it possible to make the head the focus of the camera? e.g in Survivor mode, when you're hacked into pieces, it's the torso that moves. I think it'd make more sense for it to be the head.

Flesh balls are just there to make sure that a creature with one body part and no organs doesn't just die immediately.  I needed to add some switches for the circulatory/respiration systems.  Without them, the game would look for organs.

Hmm...  most of the time it wouldn't matter, and for survivor mode I think focusing on the torso is more fun, since you can pick up your head.  If you became your severed head, you'd become a motionless lump much faster.

However, for the regular game, if you were playing some kind of undying creature, then, yeah, it would make more sense to have the game follow your head around.  This is a little harder due to some assumptions in the code (the game assumes in some places that you always have the "root" of your "body tree", meaning your upper body).  This wouldn't be hard to get around, it would just take some time...  maybe when you can play those sorts of characters more regularly I'll change it.

Hmmm... I really should come with a comment about your flesh ball getting cut to pieces, but my mind is empty... No comment today!

Keep up the good work!
