The earliest time I can play a turn is on saturday morning. If anyone else can start earlier, go ahead!

I forgot to dorf myself. There is an engraver in the fort, I would like to be him. Also, Linkxsc want's to be dorfed. So be sure to dorf him, Because I forgot.
Ouch, that was rather rude of me.

Had a quick look at the fort. Are you aware that we have no metal ore to mine at all? Checked it with prospect.

Ok. Embark assistant might not be completely reliable. Personally I don't mind, in fact it sounds like a fun challenge to make steel out of goblinite instead. There's plenty of marble, that's visible without cheating.  :P

Downloaded the save. First thing I did was extracting the legends for viewing, using this method:

https://www.reddit.com/r/dwarffortress/comments/7mu1vo/pro_tip_you_can_view_and_export_legends_mode/

The fortress is located in Sil Dakon, the Plane of Omens. The place is living up to its name. A continent surrounded by a giant evil ocean. It is populated with 60k goblins and countless undead. We are part of the Old Ink, one of six surviving dwarven civilizations. The rest of our civilization resides in the relatively calm south, but we settled our new fortress in a region to the east (red circle), absolutely infested with goblins. A little to the west looms a Necro tower. The "dwarf settlements" to the southeast have been taken over by goblins over in the year 24. It is currently the year 165.

The local region is the "Sea of Fortune", an inland sea. The majority of the sea is of neutral alignment, but our 1x1 subregion is evil. It rains "repellent mucus".

The top level of the fortress, start of the turn. For some reason there is a giant cave toad mangled partial skeleton rotting in a pool of giant cave toad blood, in front of the gate. Our starting Yak is grazing the repellent mucus fields, yikes. We need to put him out of his misery. Two harpies are harping about.

There is a 3x3 main stairs. It passes through two layers of aquifer. One of those layers houses our turkey farm.

Water from the aquifers is raining down the stairs, creating a nice shower to clean our dwarves of mucus. It drains away in a well at the bottom. The well takes water from a pool in the caverns. First thing I'll do is to secure the well with a grate, to prevent flying forgotten beasts from entering through the well.

Started my turn. Nicknamed the engraver to "ObsidianSword" (ObsidianShortSword is too many characters, sorry). He likes borax, rose gold, gray chalcedony, amber, quivers, cats, ballista parts and the sight of the Clam of Lobsters. Prefers to consume anchovy, tomatilla wine and rye seeds. Hates snails.

Unpaused the game to see the stairs waterfall in action. Not a minute later I get a notification. The fun has started. I guess my plan to butcher the yak before something worse happens to it failed. :-\

Paused the game. Before I continue I need to know what the levers do. I am worried about the hatch on the roof.

@ObsidianShortSword: Could you please explain how this works?
