The Dragon snarls in response, fierce eyes glimmering up. It roars with a deep, sometimes cracking, tired yet hateful voice.

"You people have never experienced extinction and desecration of your homes!"

It stomps with one of it front legs, cracking the stone panel underneath the carpet.

"We have been patient for the longest time, but there is a limit to humiliation! Whoever stands between us and Greoger shall die today!"

The nearby Thrum interjects.

"Do not dare to assault the king, vile beast! FOR DUNLAND!"
"Damned fools, all of you!"

The Dragon swiftly turns towards Thrum, roaring at him. In the process of turning around, Rhian gets slammed away, landing on her butt.
Despite the velocity of the impact, it felt for her like the Dragon stopped just barely in time to prevent unnecessary harm.

Eiriol imposed herself in-between Thrum and the dragon

"Wait wait wait, Misterr Thrum! You cant go fight the dragon. The dragons are suppose to be good guys." she said trying to push Thrum back from attacking the dragon.

Eiriol moves to M12 and attempts to talk some sense into Thrum

Maria wasn't certain what to make out of this situation. Or what the Mamkute meant by his hatred towards the Dunland royalty and King Alfalm. But she wasn't gonna sit here and let herself stay in the dark about it.

She approached the Dragon, carefully keeping some safe distance and tries to dig further for some information on the case.

Maria moves to N12 and Talks

"Blessed one of Fiore, please enlighten us; what kind of humiliation have you expierenced at our hands. I wish not to harm you, but perhaps mediate what is it that let's your rage burn so bright"

Doubt fills her mind if she can even scratch those scales, and she finds herself wishing she bought a stronger sword.

Then the others speak, and this is not one maddened to the loss of reason, but one that has reached the end of patience...

"They are angry, but why..."

Spoiler: Flashback (click to show/hide)

They believe the king caused this? Was us moving into Wrympeak the cause of this anger. But the timing is too much of a coincidence.

Spoiler: Flashback (click to show/hide)

... "Sir Dunas, that wasn't a trinket was it?" Did they really fake such a sacred ceremony?

Lulu as been on her best behavior! She does not want to risk ANYTHING in order to get these royal sweets. She just stood by one of the column in the room and made herself as inconspicuous as possible. Plus, she isn't the best when it come to proper etiquette with royals. It'd be real easy for her to just get too casual with them. She tilted her head at Dunas after his saddened look. Wait... NO!

HE'S GONNA CAUSE A SCENE AFTER ALL THIS??? BUT SHE WORKED SO HARD TO NOT DO ANYTHING FOR THOSE SWEETS!!! BETRAYAL!!! She doesn't even really care about how important these implications for the King are. Her sweets! Gone! Her sadness is immeasurable and her day is ruined! Buuuuut... it was about to get worse since ya know... Dragon crashing through the wall and all.

Lulu had no time to lament her desserts as she quickly panics and hides behind the pillar she was just idling by. "G-guys??? That's a HUGE dragon! We can't beat that thing! It wants the king right and he's a fake since the emblem showed that! Let's just feed him to the beast and maybe it'll fly away!" She says peeking her head around the side of the pillar.

Lulu to N5 and scream.

Thrum meets Eiriol's vigor with a cold stare.
"Good guys don't announce to kill a king. Especially one of blood. Good guys don't further the Dark God's return. Only Spawnkin do..."
She was unable to push away the massive man with massive armor. The knight straight-up ignores her attempts.

Similarily, Maria receives an intense stare. Red-hot hatred gleam in their eyes.

"Too long I pretended to be one of your kind. One of Dunland. Suffering as I see the murderer of the Mamkute walk free and rule free."

The Dragon's head lowers, the eyes shrinking to slits.

"The last straw was me overhearing Greoger striking a deal... That so-called Hero of Light could lead another crusade due to that Asheater having appeared. In return, there will be an interim ruler... Lord Zornac, the only one of pure Minor Charos among the dukes, someone who despises us! He shall die next!"

The fury reawakens in the dragon.

"On the right track, Artair. We already confirmed that we had the true Fire Emblem. It didn't shine in Prince Arnston's bare hands. He is born without blood... and the king must have known that, explaining the forgery!"
"How did you get the real Emblem in the first place?!"
"Ghal had it!"
"What?!"
"Don't speak nonsense, knave! WHY would he have it? HOW?!"
"... What a mess this is becoming, sister."

"Lulu! A Mamkute is still human! Plus, if King Alfalm dies, how will we know the truth?! I don't expect you to fight it, but please do something!"

Once Lulu makes a break inbetween screams, she notices something glimmering at L3. Shiny stuff, her specialty indeed.

Falling on her ass wasn't part of the plan today, but given the force the Mamkute was capable of, it was a gentle brush compared to what it could have been. As she clambered back to her feet, her head spun, more from the situation than any sort of physical disorientation. Alfalm, the Mamkute, the Crown Prince, Asheaters and Darkspawn, the kidnapping, the end of the war, how does it all fit together?

". . .Son of a bitch."

She turned her head to shout.
"Dunas! Who gained the most and lost the least from planting an Asheater in that camp?"

Rork was slower to react to the chaos than others as, while he was a bandit of some years and had committed several cold hearted acts, the sudden appearance of a very angry dragon is another proposition altogether. It takes him some time to compose his thoughts, but once he has he latches onto the thing that kept turning over and over in his mind.

Rork moves to K09 and Talks.

"Dragon, did you hear any other names? Ghal, maybe? Or did you see any of 'em. Like, say, a man dressed in all black and covering his face, skilled with a knife and creepier than a moonless night?" Rork asks, wanting to see if his suspicions were correct. If Ghal had an in with the royal family, his holding of the emblem made sense. But in all his years there, he had never seen the bastard handle something so important.

For once, Emilia was taken aback.

A Mamkute appearing so suddenly....this was something out of her wheelhouse. At least, for a minute.

Then they spoke. And her brother was in danger. And they knocked Rhian away. For a moment, her protective instincts kicked in. She tensed, having gone for her lance. But the more it spoke, the more she understood.

She steps forward to place herself between the Mamkute and Patrice.
"Brother. Stay back. I appreciate the sentiment, but you have never been the fighting type."

She looks over to the others and hears them discuss, putting together the information herself.

"I ask only two things, esteemed Mamkute.

Firstly, I ask that you stay your hand for at least a moment. We too have realised that we have been played for fools, but if you slay him here, and now, they will get their war, your people will be slaughtered again and your oppressor shall win and we will never find the truth. Stay your hand, and let us help each other. Help us work out the true perpetrator, because I too have had more than enough of this skulduggery.

Secondly, I ask for your name. Those whose voices beg to be heard are owed the respect of being referred to by name."

K11 and talk.

"Dunas! Who gained the most and lost the least from planting an Asheater in that camp?"
"Big question, Rhian, and not a good time to think about it thoroughly! Best I can say is someone who's been cooperating with Darkspawn to begin with."

"Dragon, did you hear any other names? Ghal, maybe? Or did you see any of 'em. Like, say, a man dressed in all black and covering his face, skilled with a knife and creepier than a moonless night?"
"I have not heard nor seen either at this court. I am questioning him possessing the Fire Emblem too... but that can be found out later."
The Dragon's tail slams the floor, another demonstration of might.
"And I will not mind taking the long route of not having a living witness to figure it out..."

"... You're a Maiden Warrior, yes. I have high respect for you and your wisdom. There is certainly truth in your words and your insight and desire for peace is trustworthy."
The Dragon's eyes tighten once more.
"Once we are done with Greoger and Zornac, I am certain you can convince the court that I was a mere feral beast and not representative of the Mamkute Tribe. A mere monster who doesn't deserve to be remembered..."
Sparks of lightning run across the brow ridges. The Dragon's body was tensed up, ready to pounce and pummel.

For Emilia, it is certain now: Beneath the Dragon's aggressive behaviour and threatening speech, there is a tinge of sadness buried within. Will unraveling it make the situation better... or worse?

"It's Greoger. Even if they hadn't surrendered, it would have weakened Westwind's forces. It was in an enemy camp and wouldn't hurt his own - and he knew that camp was going to be set ablaze. And now he's using it as a reason to go to war again! From where I'm standing, it looks like the Mamkute is right!"

Emilia shakes her head, considering the options.

"You might be right, Rhian, but we need to find out who else is involved. Even if our visitor is right, if these allegations are true, we'll have to look deeper to find the root of the corruption. Even if we let them go after the King, chances are there'll be others who were involved who will carry on that cause without them. As a Maiden Warrior, my job is to prevent wars. If this course prevents another between the Mamkutes and humanity, I must pursue it. I'll stand with you, Rhian, and with Sir Dunas."

She turns to address Thrum and Eleshyn.

"You saw what we did. The King's son is not of holy blood. He fled with the Fire Emblem. You have been deceived as we have been. Are you both so eager to plunge your people and country, to whom you have sworn yourselves, into another war so soon after we have ended the last one?"

The puzzle pieces come together.. For a Mamukete to appear long after they have vanished, she has never seen one. But despite the form they take, their words are all too human. Artair removes her hat, sheathes her blade, and approaches Throth in range of the dragon. To L13, Leaf on the Wind. Sword unequipped.

"Sir Thrum, do you fight for Dunland, or King Alfalm first?"

And now he's using it as a reason to go to war again! From where I'm standing, it looks like the Mamkute is right!"
"... It sounds suspicious... Thrum, you fought in that war! Does that make sense?"
"Harrumpf!"
It was the loudest rejecting huff of air Rhian ever heard in her life.
"Hold your wicked tongue, wrench! First, Dunas is precious to His Majesty for some inane reason! If he truly would have risked the life of his own men, he'd send out anyone else, like Sir Dulosta, who served a different commanding role. Second, Asheaters ain't growing on trees! Takes time and sacrifices. Did you hear Captain Harana stirring up crap when she checked His Majesty Himself? Me neither! No corruption, so he can't have taken part in creating an Asheater."
"Harana from the Hundred Sigils? I see... I'm afraid this is the crux that breaks your entire premise, milady. She more force of nature than human, she'd never accept compromises nor bribes. My faith in His Majesty is resolute once more."

Eleshyn and Thrum are emboldened and will inflict double Barrier Point damage this turn!

"You saw what we did. The King's son is not of holy blood. He fled with the Fire Emblem. You have been deceived as we have been. Are you both so eager to plunge your people and country, to whom you have sworn yourselves, into another war so soon after we have ended the last one?"
"... Wait. Can we actually be sure that you have the true Fire Emblem and His Majesty has a forgery?"
"So far, we've seen His Majesty's glow in Duke Zornac's hands, which makes sense. We've seen yours not glow in His Royal Highness' hands. Either he's a bloodless Secondborn or yours is the forgery, not His Majesty's. I take my chance with the latter."
"He is right. I have not witnessed proof of your claims yet. I'd like to believe you since Sir Dunas is a man of honor, but..."

Eleshyn and Thrum remain emboldened.

"Sir Thrum, do you fight for Dunland, or King Alfalm first?"
Sir Thrum laughs in response.
"What a silly question, young lady! It should be obvious, of course! The great knight Thrum fights for... ... for... err... I fight for both equally... But if I have to establish an order... ... Humm... Lady, you made an excellent question. My respect towards your keen words."

Thrum will no longer attack at all cost.

Dunas moves inbetween Lulu and the Dragon, intending to shield her from incoming harm.

Meanwhile, Ceodor looks around.
"... Oh! Where's Noel? Did she get to safety? Noel? Noel?!"
Ceodor passes.

Ally Turn

"For Dunland, for His Majesty, and for the truth! I cannot allow you to lay your claws on Him as long as we don't know the entire story!"

Patrice passes.

Rork moves to K12 and Talks to Thrum.

Rork moves to try and stop the fighting, knowing well that trying to kill a dragon was both stupid and counterproductive in this instance. He hopes to impress this upon Thrum as best as he can, and draws next to the burly warrior's side.

"Thrum! I may be a baseborn, but I've heard you crying about duty and honor all eve. Tell me, if you're a knight meant to protect the blood, why are you wielding a weapon against what may be the last of a Bloodline?"

Rork waves a hand at the dragon so his point is made clear. "And they've been hunted, according to it. Even if it's gone mad, what if whoever hunted them turns on the King or others to wake up the darkspawn again?"
