The most accurate fire setting is "Fill the air with las and pray to the Emperor and/or Omnissiah they hit something". It is also the only setting. Your faith must not be strong enough given they seem to go everywhere but your target.

You also almost manage to hit the Ork. This time your aim was true, but he ducked his head under cover before you could pull the trigger. At least he doesn't have his Reaction anymore.

Orks and their underlings start to scramble to the wall. One of the shouting Orks from earlier pokes his head over. He has a Storm Shooter so he can theoretically actually hit things! But he doesn't since it is still a really small chance. The grechen puts his gun in his wasteband with the lit torch then climbs up the wall to cover.

On the APC side one of the guns is now being manned. It immediately jams. Thank the Emperor for Orkish engineering.

Judging by the small heat signature, it is in fact a grot grotting the kannon rather than an Ork Orking it. Which is probably where the Ork pulled the other Grot from. This might be good for you since gretchen are easier to kill than orks.

But harder to hit. Your blast goes wide. He's inside the fort so your lasgun would have trouble disabling him on a hit, but the miss is still disappointing. You then turn tail and run 3 meters deeper into the jungle.

You throw the smoke grenade down at you feet and look for somewhere to dive for the seconds before it goes off and covers the surrounding 6 meters. You don't have any particularly good places to dive to in the middle of the clearing. Not that you had a lot of time to look. Under the current weather conditions you're little smoke cloud is likely to last 19 turns.

Smoke grenades pair well with your goggles. Thanks to them, you are able to still see the heat signatures of your enemies and orient yourself within the smoke cloud. You feel like you could hit the targets just as easily from within your cloudy friend than you could outside of it.

You cut through the jungle. Your treads crush the undergrowth just about as easily as they crush orks. It'll be a shorter distance but you'll have to dodge around the bigger trees making the trip more difficult.

As your chimera took a detour into the jungle, there are a significant number of trees between you and your target. Said trees bravely give their lives to protect their Ork brethren from las fire. All your shots fall into the jungle rather than the kannon.
