Yeah, they're actively murdering everything. It shouldn't be hard to tell if they're suddenly blind, by the way they stop being able to murder everything.

So Invisible beaming their heads, got it.

I look for my target through one of the newly built holes in the wall. There are a lot of those now. I see the Elf raising his bow, carefully aim, and fire!

I hit him in the arm, I think, but like in the GIF and with the other items the blue mist goes over his whole body anyway. Including his head, his outfit, and his bow. He shouts something in Elf-speak but I'm not entirely sure what it was and his buddy limps towards his voice.

Probably important is that the invisible items are suddenly turning un-invisible in another blue mist. I think it lasted around 30 seconds. Which at least removes the fear of turning invisible forever but kinda makes it hard to make the entire town invisible.

Did you make all of him invisible?  Also, just remember:  you only need to make him blind for however long it takes to take him out.  The only question is how are you going to do that?
