Also, I'm not sure that the law would apply to a video game anyway.  They only passed the law to shut up one woman who was running a vocal campaign.

Really now. Sneaking into people's houses at night, gouging their eyes out, and beating parents down with the limbs of their babies/children or vice versa. Yes, but against a game? The UK considers those guilty by default, regardless of the charges. Just look at the outrage about WiiFit calling somebody fat because of crappy coding. There's no way a indie game without lawyers can fight both that stigma and a law as well.

I've played Night Trap through dozens of times (It was my favorite game for like 4 years), and I never saw anyone butchered. (Okay, hung upside down or drilled in the neck and drained of their blood maybe), but never any naked women. The only scene even REMOTELY like that is when Cindy is in the bathroom in a nightgown and the Augers attack her.

Yes, yes you can.  Censorship prevents many books from being published, there are illegal types of porn (for a reason), and you can't say "my mother's pussy was quite fuzzy the last time I stroked it" on the radio.  Most of the censorship isn't even enforced by the government, publishing companies for all types of media are pressured by various lobbying groups into self-censorship, usually through the threat of extremely negative press and possible lawsuits.  "Free Speech" is usually only allowed if you don't "offend the sensibilities of the general passerby."  Like arresting women for being topless in a protest to Florida law.  Sure the courts usually throw it out, but, if it violates any of your local "decency laws" don't expect to be saying it for long.
