Who has the big money and power around here? companies? nobility? government?
search for shelter for the night, possibly long-term. what shelter have I been using up until now?
consider the possible benefits and penalties from just plopping down somewhere and going low-power mode until tomorrow.

Day One: Evening
Consume 1 food, Everyone

"Rest, I will keep watch."

Greslarch will keep an eye out for danger , using his sense of smell if need be.

Spoiler: Greslarch (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

While beast-man keeps watch, Kongor will forage. Kongor hopes beast man likes eating plants.
(2 on a d10) You don't find anything edible today.

You two are sleeping without shelter tonight, since neither of you set up a shelter. I'm going to roll for effect: 1: bandits, 2 wild animals, 3 poor weather, 4 no trouble, 5 restful sleep, 6 random magical event. Keeping watch will give you advantage on roll to avoid being spotted and will give you initiative if you are found.

2. Wild animals.
A small pack of boars wanders through your campsite. I'll roll against your most appropriate skill, which looks to be hunting. D10: 9,8. since higher stats mean rolling under is a success, you fail to hide. I'll roll combat for both of you. First, how many boars? 1d6 +1: 5 boars. I'll roll 5d6 and combine your body combat scores. If the boars are high, they'll do damage. if they are low, you chase them off. if your score is 2x theirs, you get a boar out of it. Your scores are 10 and 8, so they have to roll against an 18. 4, 6, 4, 5, 6. 25. That's some bad luck there.alright, I'll roll a d6 to see who took the damage. 1-2 Kongor, 3-4 both, 5-6, Greslarch

2. So Kongor was injured in the fight.
He'll move at half speed for the next 7 days and roll at disadvantage on physical actions. He can eat 1.5x food each day to reduce the time by 1 day per, as long as he doesn't strain the injuries with strenuous activity. Greslarch can spend tomorrow hunting the boars for food though, with advantage, due to his scent skill - but it will be meat, so Kongor won't be able to eat it. Don't try to take on the whole pack alone.

"Well shit, maybe I could find a knife and start my own wood working stuff."
See if one near where I am has a knife I could buy in exchange for food.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Wibbity Wobbity, Bibbly bobbly, doot doot de boot! You have a simple carving knife!  You can make trinkets with it. It has a d6 use die, so I'll roll that each use for dulling or breakage. Track that. You can also decorate regular, handheld wooden objects. You'll be sleeping outside tonight. same rules as above. 3 bad weather. It's a bit cold, and that keeps you tossing and turning. I'll roll a d10 against your body stat to see if you get sick. 1! lucky, you wake the next morning early and refreshed, well before dawn. You'll make it back in time for the regular job hunting session if you hurry.

Supplement diet by scrounging trash and sleep under a gutter or where ever the other ravens are resting.

Spoiler: the healer (click to show/hide)
Pity you didn't go with Kongor and Grislarch. They could use a healer right about now~ i'll let you fly south after them at the cost of 2x food if you want to join them (that is, consume 2 days food rather than 1 today). Otherwise, your night looks like: 3, poor weather and 5 v body - poor sleep so disadvantage on the morning's rolls for the next day. Wait, I forgot to roll for searching for shelter. 4, you find a murder of crows that lets you join them for the night and rest reasonably well. No ill effects for the morning. You don't get additional food though, as that would be two actions.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“I say we just buy food and sleep in the streets:  there is no guarantee that we will get paid tomorrow.  Either way, I will go along with you guys.”
Follow the others, doing what they do with their money.

Spoiler: Gwyn (click to show/hide)
the two of you return to the ... let's call it a classic adventurers' inn where the group had been living recently. You each spend 1/2 day's wage to stay the night. You can spend the other to secure the room for tomorrow as well. It's fine as a long term shelter, as long as you can pay. I'll assume your third party member does the same tonight.

Unlike our world, Big Money isn't really a thing in this setting, though there are nobles, relatively large businesses, and a fairly strong central government. Land is valuable, so large landowners tend to be wealthy, and in the current situation, both food production and the transportation industry are the financial backbone of the country. Aside from that, magical resources are at a premium, and this world's magical resources are largely undeveloped, so there is opportunity for big scores on the frontiers. There are a few Idle Rich still in the city, but the current crisis is quickly dwindling their resources. Of course, Crime is pretty big right now as well. Lots of small gangs fighting, and some strong willed groups are building up syndicates and such.

As for going low power and sleeping in the streets, anything from rats, to magical parasites, to the titular murderhobos, to bad weather could happen. Everyone so far has had diferent night experiences that kinda give a decent overview of what nights should look like for the near future, in terms of risk and cost.

Johnson sighs "Good to be back in routine."

Find other work

Spoiler: Johnson Windslow (click to show/hide)
7 on a d10 v mind skill. You keep an ear out as you work through the morning and your current employer gives you a lead on a night stockperson position at a warehouse. You Work late into the night. 5. You join the other night stockpersons in a makeshift barracks on one end of the warehouse. Nothing untoward happens to you, and you suffer no penalties for the next day. A security guard chases the group out before dawn. You get 1 day's pay.

Try to find more permanent shelter.  Is there someone with a tree or a rooftop I can rent for nesting purposes?

Spoiler: Jack (click to show/hide)
The location you rented tonight would be fine long term, if you can pay. If you can put up a one week deposit, you can stay for 6 per week, due in advance.

This isn't sustainable, and we did well today too.
not reserving the room for tomorrow, can't sustain things at this rate.
am assuming that we can just rest for this turn to rest overnight?
if the assumption is wrong and we're submitting actions for the morning then I need to look for specialty work, something that will actually pay me enough to keep going. am COMPLETELY fine with being paid in room/board(meaning power & shelter) rather than traditional pay.

changes to sheet: -1 day's power, -1/2 day's pay.

Follow Gwyn. After all, someone looking for force multiplication would probably like the idea of hiring a sentient weapon + a compact healer.

Day Two: Morning
the Morning/Evening cycle will be the normal process, unless people get into long term situations, in which case, I can go week by week. Example: Gwyn and Egan's character are being offered caravan jobs, and Kongor and Greslarch are traveling by foot a long distance. I'll try to balance it so most people can act most turns.

"I now set out on my own and make my own money!"
Use my new knife to carve fancy walking sticks, pipes, or whatever wooden things I think people would buy.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
7-1 =/= 5. You should be on 6 food. Did I miss something? Now, You wield your knife and carve ... nothing. You have no wood. So you spend the morning hunting for wood. d10 v mind: 3 You find (1d6) 2 pieces of usable carving wood. Mind check: 4. You quickly realize that carving wood with a single carving knife will be a supplemental income at best. You might make 1/4 day's wages on sales on a good day. You consider opening a stall on Market Day (week day 6) with the fruits of a week's evening work.

This isn't sustainable, and we did well today too.
not reserving the room for tomorrow, can't sustain things at this rate.

Spoiler: Gwyn (click to show/hide)
The struggle is real.
The day's actions are broken into Morning and Evening cycles, with rest being implied at the end of Evening cycle unless otherwise noted. In general, morning is time for work, evening is time for prepping for rest. But one can forgo shelter to work more, at the risk of suffering exhaustion or other problems. Once Evening Turn is posted, your next action is for the Morning cycle. I will post any night events during the Evening Post. If situations get more combat heavy, or complicated, I'll alter the process, perhaps by adding a Combat Cycle.

Egan, this part applies to you as well
Looking for specialty work. I assume you are separating from the previous group? hmm. D20 v mind. Since Egan is following you now, I'll roll once for each. 7 (target: 3), and 4 (target: 6). Egan's roll succeeds. You find positions open for caravan guards. Pay is  room and board during the journey, plus a stipend at the end of the trip, depending on the length, success, and events of the trip. Generally, for one week's work, expect a stipend of 1-2 days pay. Return funds are not included. There are caravans heading in each of the cardinal directions.
You get no pay today, but if you choose a caravan in Evening Cycle, you'll get shelter for the night.

You should be on 6 days' food right now. See Lenglon's turn (last paragraph) for your current situation.

Spoiler: Jack (click to show/hide)
Food, Money, and shelter are not three words for the same thing. You cannot exchange food for shelter at a 6 to 7 rate. you do not have 13 days pay to be able to take that deal, and you do not suddenly have more food and shelter than you had last turn. Nothing I said suggested any of that. I cannot help but think you did this deliberately to game the system for infinite food/shelter. I do not have the inclination to put up[ with shenanigans like the one you pulled in MOOK and this one. You are robbed by your landlord and cast out on your face with 3 days food and no work.

Johnson stretches and hums to himself a song only he knows.

(d6) 3. You spend your morning offloading cargo for 1/2 day's pay. Solid work, but tiring.

"Yer not look'n so good big guy, leave the work ta me fer today."

Greslarch will rise at the crack of dawn to hunt the boar, only a few though as not to risk injury. But for the rest of the night he'll rest in some grass.

d10 with advantage v hunt skill: 9, 9. yikes, no luck. Since Kongor is holding camp, You can try again in the evening and still ahve shelter for the night.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Take a rest in the grass
I'm going to assume you spend the morning slowly setting up shelter while resting. you have 6 1/2 days of injury time left.

>Look for more combat work, especially dungeon crawls and bounty hunting.
Spoiler: Matt (click to show/hide)
Why do you have 3 days' food? why did you start with 4? You should have started with 7 and be at 6, unless I am missing something. As for dungeon crawling: d10 v mind stat: 9. nothing comes to mind. 6, same for bounties. It's quiet today. No riots, no major robberies, nuthin'.
