(Also, note I'm happy to go with someone else, if I find a job going to a different city.  Not going to stay in the dying town longer than I must.)

(I'm not sure.. right now I'm looking for a job to go to a city, not knowing which city.  If I can't find a job, I'd be glad to join another group.)

(It's not that city life is necessarily bad, but it looks like the best we can hope for in the dying capital is barely scraping by.  Somewhere else is probably better.)

Day Two: Evening
consume 1 food, everyone. By the way, you don't instantly die if you run out of food. Starvation effects happen per day of not eating. you can theoretically survive up to 2 months (60 days) without food, if there is water, but you'll be crawling long before then.

>If trouble isn't coming to the job boards, then I should look for trouble.
Spoiler: Matt (click to show/hide)
Again, post your actions in white text, bold. Also, what do you mean, go look for trouble? Want me to roll up a bar fight for you?

Continue the hunt until sunset, afterward help the ape-man finish setting up camp.

((OOC: By the way Ozarck, I was wondering what our current location looks like? Are we on a vast stretch of flatland, miles of grass around us or is it hills? Or something else? Trying to get an idea of where we are exactly. If you could clear that up I'd very much appreciate it.))

Spoiler: Greslarch (click to show/hide)
(10, 4) at last, you manage to isolate and kill one boar. This yields you (2d6+2) 12 days meat. Track meat separately than the generic food. You notice while you are out hunting signs of a group of people camping nearby. You catch a glimpse from afar of armed vagabonds.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Continue carefully setting up camp
You set up camp for tonight. The sounds of men arguing reaches you from the distance several times throughout the evening. 6 days wounded.

((So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you watch Otzdarva Egan? cuz putting a t in Ozarck's name is an odd typo.
Otzdarva's cool imo.))

"Hehe, they can try if they want."
Lets go guard for the really long caravan trip to the east into the wasteland!

Who else is going with us on the trip? Anyone interesting? What's the caravan looking for? We searching for treasure? exploring? I'm all kinds of excited and curious and gonna ask about all the things!

Spoiler: Gwyn (click to show/hide)
Tell the others about the available expeditions and that me and Gwyn will be leaving and probably not coming back for months, if ever.
And I'm going to take the wastes job, obviously.

((Ha, you're pretty observant. Both names start with an O, have a Z, and are about the same length so they are literally impossible to tell apart~))
Alright, you two are set for shelter for the night. The caravan will start out in the morning.

Find more messenger work, then, but this time look for something heading towards a different city.

(I was not aware I was paid in money.  I thought my wages were my choice of food or shelter, or two days of food.  I had no idea that money was a seperate thing.)

(Sorry about the confusion.  I'll keep track of wages as wages from now on.)

Spoiler: Jack (click to show/hide)
4. you find work carrying messages to the west - a one week trip. You are weighted down and encumbered. This has a chance every day v. body stat to halve your progress for the day. You will be paid 7 days' wages at the destination. (Mark this as to be paid on delivery).

(My previous action was to trade one days food for a knife, and I got the knife so I assumed I traded the food for it.)

"I might need to rethink this, being my own boss wood carving thing."
Find a nice place to sit and carve those two pieces of wood into something people would buy.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My apologies. The knife came with your skill. I wasn't clear on that. After tonight you should still have 5 days' food. d10 v wood carving: 5, 9.  You make no progress with one piece. The other, well, it's a start. You have a partially carved axe handle. Tool handles are always sellable, if not always profitable. Since you don't have shelter tonight, I'll roll for effect. 3: You sleep in an alley. the smell of garbage is strong enough to wake you, so you move on, but never find a comfortable resting spot. You'll have disadvantage on rolls for the morning.

Johnson yawns barely able to function with how tired he is.

Find shelter for the night

Spoiler: Johnson Windslow (click to show/hide)
subtract 1/2 day's wage for shelter.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Go with beastie boys (whatever those are)
I don't know what those are either. are you sleeping in town tonight? if so, subtract 1/2 day's wages for shelter. otherwise, I'll roll up a night travel action for you in a miniturn, wherever you are going.

Set out to our death.
If this is doable and reliably safe with life magic (at level 10 in that skill), then start doing a "checkup" with the members of the expedition, make sure they're in good enough health.

(That's all right, it makes since now that I think of it.)

"Seems like I might have better luck if I leave the city and try some were else."
Find out if there are any caravans to another town and try to get a job as a guard or something.

Not sleeping in town.  During the night, I try to set up some criminal contacts as a killer-for-hire.
