Quote from: Traitor's Mist
Using a careful mix of Air and Water magics, we can create an obscuring mist at a location on the battlefield. This isn't the end of it though. Anyone who breathes in the water droplets of this area have their perceptions warped, heightening their paranoia ams causing them to mistake the looming silhouettes of friend and foe. As a first effort we can't expect a sudden bloodletting free for all, but it should thoroughly stall an advance as soldiers refusing to heed orders or form ranks as they question everyone around around them.

Neat!  An LSD bomb!  What could possibly go wrong!

I agree with ACC that SSSS is more widely applicable than Charming Artwork, while still being a good way of increasing favour with the Dragons. I do have some issues with it, so I wrote an alternative, focusing purely on visual observation (given that the Aurans have a spell to create silence, listening in won't be as useful), and using specific objects (I feel it'll be easier to make a spell that only works with clay eyeballs rather than one that works with literally anything, and won't really cause a drastic decrease in utility).

Quote
Sympathetic Eye: Clay eyeballs are linked to 'mirrors' of polished bronze, transmitting what the clay eye sees to the surface of the mirror. These clay eyeballs are fairly small and innocuous; they can be installed in actual statues, hidden amidst a potted plant, stuck in a nook of a tree- or even covertly thrown/rolled/slung towards enemy positions, in the hopes of ending up in an orientation where something useful can be seen. The uses are many: keeping an eye on treasuries; spying on rival politicians; monitoring enemy movements; and so on and so forth.

Playground of the Gods / Kaynan God / Turn 2 Revision

Proposal: Misleading Mistral Mirage
Difficulty: Hard Easy
Result: (1+1)+1=3, Buggy Mess

The Misleading Mistral Mirage was intended to be a spell that manipulated the air in a space with a touch of arcane energy to create a relatively convincing illusion to the untrained eye. Instead, casting MMM can only held at the caster's fingertips. A thin arcane field projects outward from said fingertips and crafts a 2D image based on the caster's used point of reference. Smaller images are clearer, but projections the general size of a human body will have a very perceptible loss in focus. Anything larger than that will begin to "pixelate" heavily. Some say the scribe Edward Pixel coined this term, which refers to an image appearing in a blocky, unclear form, much like the world without his glasses. Regardless of the origin of the word, it still means larger images with more details will be much more easily detected as false.

Misleading Mistral Mirage is fairly easy to cast and maintain for a minute or two at least, meaning it's Common.

Proposal: Sympathetic Eye
Difficulty: Normal
Result: 2+1=3, Buggy Mess

These meticulously crafted clay eyes are enchanted to allow someone to view their perspective through a polished bronze mirror. These eyes include eyelids that remain closed until a magically-adept person activates the mirror. Once they open, the eyes emit cones of dim red light from their glowing pupils. These eyes can be a variety of sizes but are most often found in unimpressive clay figures crafted by the enchanters in order to discretely deliver large numbers of eyeballs wherever they need to go.

Sympathetic Eyes aren't difficult to make, they just didn't turn out too, ah, "innocuous", so they're Common.

Have a Revision for each!

Quote from: Liquid Lensing
It turns out that we can only have so many distinct points in the images of our Misleading Mistral Mirages. Edward Pixel has offered a potential solution however. Or more specifically, we stole his glasses for research purposes. If they can bring things into focus for him, perhaps we can use lenses to solve our pixelling problem.

Our final rendition consists of a fine mist of water, dispersed from a bowl or water bottle, to match the intended image size. Manipulating their property to produce rainbows on a sunny-yet-rainy day, each droplet lends itself to making the illusory image seem substantial, three dimensional and detailed. Better yet, the droplets can hold a mana charge even after being dispersed from their container, extending the duration of the spell for almost as long as the mist stays in one place. Strong winds or a lot of traffic will disrupt the image, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue for our draconic allies at least. Unfortunately we couldn't find a way to have Edward Pixel's glasses requisitioned permanently.

Quote from: Energy Yielding Emitters
It turns out a small inefficiency in the enchantment has caused the eye to emit light alongside the "sight rays" it is supposed to generate. It will be incredibly tedious to completely remove this affect, so instead a small nugget of iron is embedded in each eye that will absorb this waste light. Its capability is only so high, so we have added an additional command word that has the eye bleeding off this energy as a strong beam of light (useful for illumination,  or just to confuse trespassers as to which eye happens to be "active") until either depleted or a second command is given.

MMM was Easy, so I think we can afford to fix more than just the resolution issue.

Quote
MMM Mending Mineral: In order to produce a longer lasting and more detailed mirage, a small piece of quartz is used as a focus. The Initiate places the piece of quartz (which they have charged with magic beforehand) in the area the mirage is to be deployed in, then casts the spell 'through' the quartz. Not only does the magical energy contained within the quartz maintain the illusion for longer, the refractive solid provides an anchor that allows for more detail to be added without the spell collapsing under its own weight.
One final benefit is that due to different pieces of quartz having different 'frequencies', it is much easier to overlay two or more illusions, in order to create a facsimile of a three-dimensional object if needed (eg if it is possible the mirage may be viewed from several radically different angles)- though this requires multiple castings using multiple pieces of quartz, so two-dimensional remains the default option.
Quartz is pretty easy to acquire, although it is not the best receptacle for magical energy, meaning the duration of the illusion is still not measured in days. Also of note is that it is essentially impossible to extract energy from quartz manually, and even when not in use energy bleeds off fairly quickly- in other words, this isn't a shortcut to mana batteries.

Edit: with the changes Kashyyk made to his revisions, this one is redundant.

Honestly I feel kind of bad that I don't have anything to suggest, but this is pretty cut and dry as a revision phase. We rolled badly, we need to get our stuff working.
