Come on, man. What are the chances of it not being my second guess? :(

I was so fucking happy when I realised I would get my first second line win too. And then I didn't.

Actually, from the first guess alone, it could have been several other words too.

It was nevertheless a very strong start.  Well done Scriver!   :D

Wordle 204 5/6

🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜
⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜
⬜🟩🟩🟨⬜
⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

That yellow is the same letter both times. I had to find it through elimination, but it made the word easier to figure out.

omg, lots of uncommon letters used in today's word. Really had me scratching my head for a few minutes there.

I turned on hard mode for today (any green letters have to show up in that spot in the rest of your guesses), so I had to only use words that had the correct 4th letter. As it turns out, I can't just rattle off all of the words I know that end with certain letters.

Also, I learned contractions and fancy spellings* are not in the word list. I got another surprising word that did work, though:

Wordle 205 X/6*

⬛🟨⬛🟩⬛

My first loss, but also my first attempt at hard mode. That second guess was a bad idea, but I really needed more information about what letters I could use.

So optimization programs suggest you run ADIEU and then STORY for your first 2 guesses in all cases. This generated a 4 guess win for me, I hadn't played before and saw a discussion on astralcodexten and didn't realize what yellow letters meant. Otherwise it would be an easy 3 turn win. I'd prefer to get an L or N instead of D but I don't think you can given the rules. Would have to do more digging.

Heart (or Earth, same letters) and Lions (or Loins) gets you all but one vowel, and a lot of other letters that show up regularly. You lose U and Y, but that's mattered twice, and the first time the only vowel was U and all the rest were eliminated.

True if you place less emphasis on vowels especially u/y that combination gets you l and n and h which are nice. I might do something like ALIEN and YOURS but that does take away your T. YURTS trades T for O. Maybe TOURS and sacrifice Y.
