Do most of you pick different starting words for wordle or do you have a standard first guess?

I always go with CREST as my starting word since it is mostly made of the most commonly used letters in English.

Do ALIEN, TOURS and then like something with potential consonants based on my results and perhaps a Y.

219 is impossible to figure out alone, but if you've got two people looking at it from different angles it's pretty easy

Put the same letter in spot 2 for guesses 2 & 3, but it was enough to figure out the word.

I got it in two lol.  I did it on my phone this morning. and redid it on my computer just now for the copypaste.  I could see this one being really hard, but I got really lucky

The ankle guess basically left only knoll, there's nothing else that fits.

Has anybody played Absurdle?  It's an adversarial version of wordle, similar to that tetris variant that always picks the worst letter. It doesn't pick a word; it goes through the entire library and groups words by what clue they would generate, then gives you the clue with the most words.  So the goal is to cut down the list as efficiently as possible until it only has one possible word, then guess that word.  The best I've gotten is six guesses, I think the record so far is 3.  It's deterministic so you have to vary your approach.

I had a feeling about the L, but couldn't think of a single word that had an L in it and also an N and an O.

Third word had to re-use another letter I knew wasn't in the answer, because I couldn't think of any other way to rearrange the 3 yellow letters. Having 4/5 letters including a green certainly made it easier to guess.

I have the second and third letters, and have eliminated the 3 letters that generally go with the second. It's going to be one of those words, isn't it?

Edit: I've been asked why I play this game, and "spite" is my best answer.
