If they ask, I will just color it's corpse white and lie.

shesh, the possibilities if you could catch one of those and keep in your fort. i would let it loose in a deep water filled chamber, guarding a hatch cover in the bottom. beneath the cover i would keep all my artifacts ^^

extra points goes to toady if forts ever will be able to retain information about item locations and tame animals after abandonment. the ability to specify why the fortress was abandonned would be cool to (monster invasion etc).

Hmm.  Would an aquatic megabeast appear at landlocked fortresses and instantly drown?  Also, since AFAIK megabeasts sometimes wander as "migrant groups" in adventure mode (never seen one, but I think they do), would you see them trekking through the jungle or would they be smart enough to stick to water?  The thought of a great white whale megabeast is intriguing.

The fastest way to solve your problem is to spawn a pocket world with the population of sea serpents risen way, way up. Then  you can go all Illiad on them.

I prefer something like this:

code:

|+g+++| Z-1
+~+~+
+~+g+
+++++
~+g~~
++++~
+~~++
+++++

|≈≈≈α≈| Z-0
≈≈≈≈≈
≈≈α≈≈
α≈≈≈≈
≈α≈α≈
≈≈≈α≈
≈≈≈≈≈
≈α≈≈≈

Pull them in, and feast on their bones.

EDIT:  Spaced for clarification.

If you want to find one, why not edit the tags so there are more than 1? why not make it like 1:1000?
