Dwarf Halls...
« on: April 11, 2008, 08:19:00 am »

In Adventurer mode, every time I come across a Dwarven Hall or stronghold it is just a walled in pit full of either sky or open space.

Is this a bug? Or what?

Also, do people notice you stealing their various goods, and then outlaw you from every other settlement of the same race?

Right now the dwarf halls are kind of empty and pointless, so you really don't want to go in them.  Those open pits should have a floor several levels down.  Also if you look around you might find a proper entrance.

They will notice, but only the civilization will try to get you.  If you rob some goods from one human civ, but then travel to another one, they won't kill you.

I've had folks from one or two human towns over do the "I am <blah>! Prepare to die!"

I had to smash him and his children into bloody piles of... Well, blood.

How does one refill their waterskins?

Refilling a waterskin can be done by standing next to a water source and nteracting, then selecting your waterskin. You'll then be given a choice of where you want to fill it from, if there's more than one source of liquid. You could even fill it with blood if you like, but that's probably not what you wanted.

Heh, every time I want to guzzle the life liquids of children I get the message...

"No. That's disgusting."

I didn't ask your opinion Mr. I-Just-Smashed-45-Toddlers-Into-Dust, so don't grow a conscience now.

It's not moral, it's just an acquired taste. For the first hundred times blood does indeed taste funny.

is there any way to actually let the adventurer drink blood ?

lets say, when he is dehydrated and disgust is no factor anymore ?

Drinking blood is more than a matter of taste... humans get a gag reflex if they drink too much at once.

Too much, of course, is still far more than what a blood smear contains.

Toady is letting that, if I recall, wait until the Disease/Infection stuff comes in.

I Once drank wolf blood that was stuck to my character's shirt

Of course he wouldn't do it until he was actually rather thirsty

There is an entrance in the "pit".. a ramp. Then it goes down and down and down... probably a dozen floors of large numbers of empty rooms (none of which seem to be designated for anything).

I just completed a quest for a dwarven mayor. Now, how am I ever supposed to find that mayor again? It seems like it was luck the first time. There doesn't seem to be any set office like the mayor's building in a human town.

Does anyone know how to find the mayor in a dwarven hall?

Dwarf Companion and Warp. No other way is sane.

Damnation! Maybe I will look at DF Companion, but I don't want to cheat... otherwise, I might just drop the idea of reporting the deed, for now.
