"hmmm..., so that's two of the three people I was speaking to yesterday when I felt it coming down with the same issue." Mori replied, as the string of expletives in his head sped up and increased in volume, "Can you give me Miyazono's phone number so I can text him and ask how he's doing, since I'm just sitting around and doing nothing? It would be rather unfortunate if I got the two of you sick with something. In the meantime, I should text Veep and see how he's doing, since I spoke with him right afterward."

Mori typed something out on his phone, and a few seconds later, Akihiko's phone buzzed.

"Don't let them know I texted you. Do you have Akari, Demura, or Suzuki's number or a way to contact them? I think we might want to send someone to check on Miyazono."

[Unlurking Sentinel]

Masaru recognized Tadano's voice immediately. Of all the times Kaneko had to pick...

He rushed through the crowd to Tadano's side, past Kaneko. In that same motion, he tried to swipe the letter from under him. Even against a football player's strength, Masaru hoped Honda's distraction and his above-average speed and strength would pull through. Regardless of his success, he quickly examined the letter to see if it resembled the one Koga-senpai had found misplaced.

Sakurajima Team
Akihiko checks his phone quickly.
I'll call Saya.
Tadano/Miyazono Team
Daiya grins.
"Well, well, if it isn't everyone's favorite delinquent, Honda. Come on, it's an understanding between me and Tadano here."
"Thank god, Honda! Please, you have to let me get it back!"

As Masaru sweeps in, Daiya just calmly steps out of the way, retracting his hand and pocketing the letter. As he does, however, Masaru is able to get a good look; it's one of Koga's missing letters.
"What, Tadano's big brother coming in too? Come on, guys."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Bullshit. I recognize bullying when I see it. Hand over that letter or I will *really* embarrass you in front of the entire student body, and we both know I can do it. So do you want to do this the easy way, where you hand it over and back off, plan your revenge, try to attack me in private, and get you and your little gang annihilated a second time like the pathetic cowards you are? Or do you want to do it the hard way, right here in front of everyone?"

"I'm really hoping for the hard way. Come on, make my day. Throw the first punch."

Tadano/Miyazono Team
Daiya just stares at Mildred for a minute, before laughing.
"You think it'll end like last time, huh? I don't see Kasuga around. Without your boyfriend around, maybe you're not so tough after all."
"Besides, I've got something to even the odds this time."

He whips out a small, black orb, barely the size of his finger, a small thorn-like point jutting from one end. Mildred recognises it; it's the same thing that fell out of Saya when Akihiko subdued her Akuma. It's very likely an Akuma Seed.

"This little thing is supposed to make me pretty strong. I'm telling you, back off, Honda. This thing? It's supposed to make you strong enough to fight those Akuma things."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Pff, as if I'm dating Kasuga."

"I'd suggest you don't fuck around with that thing, though. It's more dangerous than you think it is... and so am I, if you don't throw it away."

Although Mildred was standing still with her hands in her jacket pockets, and the air in the cafeteria was completely calm, it looked almost as if a sudden wind was beginning to blow her hair around...

[Unlurking Sentinel]

Masaru never liked how similar Tadano looked to him; it weakened the credibility of his family for no reason besides coincidence. But given the truth of their lack of relation, openly distancing himself from him would only weaken it further.


"Masaru Demura. Treasurer of the student council. I'm flattered, but I assure you, Tadano-senpai has no relation to me outside of this school."

Masaru saw the Akuma Seed, and placed himself between Tadano and Kaneko.


"So this is how you choose to apply yourself, Kaneko? Stealing personal property from a proud member of the Student Council, and using it to threaten them? And threatening violence on those who object to your actions?"


"I recognize what you're holding. That is an 'Akuma Seed'. I have read about them, Kaneko, and they never end well. The vast, vast majority of those pierced by them become Akuma themselves within minutes. Monsters reviled by the public, and destined to be hunted down by the Kaijin. I've even heard that some misbegotten Kaijin hunt down former Akuma even after their humanity was restored. And whatever affection you're trying to garner, I assure you, no one would want to associate themselves with a man who chose to become a monster. Are these risks you're willing to take?"

Masaru then lifted an arm in front of Honda, barring her from approaching further.


"Do not fear for your safety. I promise I will do all in my power to prevent this delinquent from harming you, let alone Kasuga. But If you do not return that letter immediately, destroy any of these Seeds in your possession, and swear not to pull another stunt like this again... this will not end after today, no matter what you're planning. Your clique has a history of abusing other students, doesn't it? With or without me, the football team's budget will have to be... reconsidered. This is not on your head alone."


"...But if you're willing to throw away your humanity and future, please, do so outside of the school premises. You're in a crowded cafeteria, Kaneko. You stand to hurt far more people than Tadano, this woman, and I."

Tadano/Miyazono Team
Daiya stares at Masaru, briefly contemplating his words.
"...shut up, Demura. I ain't taking orders from you! You probably don't even know what this is, do you? When I use it, you'll just see exactly what I'm capable of!"
"W-wait, Kaneko!"
While Daiya is talking to Masaru, Riku reaches for the Akuma Seed in his hand, struggling with it for a brief few seconds.

Long enough for two things to happen.

One, Saya and Rise appear, at opposite ends of the corridor. Saya, checking her phone, quickly types a message to Akihiko. Rise takes one look at Riku and storms over to him, pushing her way through the crowd.

Two, Daiya stabs the Akuma Seed into his own neck.

The seed vanishes into Daiya's neck as he flinches, dropping the letter. Riku unhands him, standing back.
"K...Kaneko?"

Daiya flinches, trembling. The crowd around the pair remains dead silent as Rise pushes her way through.
"Kaneko! What is the meaning of-"
Suddenly, without warning, he grabs both Rise and Riku. The air behind Daiya seems to ripple, forming an unseen hole into somewhere, before he, keeping his hands on the pair, falls through. The crowd dissipates, screaming, as the space where the three once were is suddenly replaced with a Domain Gate; rather than the traditional style of the previous gate, it resembles a metallic factory door, shadowy cracks skittering through the air and around the door.

Only Mildred, Masaru, Misa and Saya are left to see this.
"...I'll get the others."
Sakurajima Team
Tsukasa snaps his head up, suddenly, as Yui, Akihiko and Mori feel it.

An Akuma has awakened nearby.

Akihiko holds his phone up.
Kaneko just turned into an Akuma and took Tadano and Koga.

The mental string of expletives finally hit their final crescendo with a loud and certain "SHIT!!!"

Mori shot a text to Veep.

"I'm sending Sakurajima to meet you in the theatre room. After you meet up, find Miyazono, then return to the room and try to keep everything calm. Also, let me know anything that happens with Mishima."

When he put his phone in his pocket, the air around Mori shifted once again, this time to a cold air of total authority, focused like a laser on Sakurajima.


"Sakurajima, go to the theatre room." Mori ordered "Veep will be there and then you two should find Miyazono, then return to the theatre room and remain there until the situation is secured. I will not allow any form of harm to befall those under my watch, even if I have to personally kick Kaneko's face into his skull until it jumpstarts his brain, though I'll admit it may have atrophied from years of lack of use, _{just like his testicles}."

That last part he'd intended to stay as only thoughts, though he wasn't entirely torn up about it slipping out.

He turned to Tsukasa next.


"You should likely escort her, Kazami."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"You're not getting away from me that easily, you lowlife motherfucker! Urgh. _{Guess I'd better wait for the others first. I could kick that scumbag's face out his ass but it'd probably help to have someone watching my back in case more of those weaklings are in there.}"

She began to pace back and forth in front of the door, body tensed like a caged lion waiting to pounce.

[Unlurking Sentinel]

"S-SENPAI!"

Masaru's hands were already trying to rip open the factory door when Honda (quietly, surprisingly enough) told herself they should wait for the others.


"I cannot believe I am saying this, but... you have a point. Our chance of survival is limited with only three of us. We only lived last time because of Gawain, Scathach, and Cath Palug."


"But on that very same point, we only survived because other Kaijin came to rescue us. What if those Onibi reach Tadano and Koga before we do? They cannot try to protect themselves like you could. Even just one of them would..." Masaru paused, and nearly gagged.


"...I do not want to think about that possibility. The Onibi only appeared in unmanageable crowds the closer we were to the Akuma, yes? If we could avoid him until the others arrived, we could locate and protect them."


"They need Kaijin now. We could be that for them."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"..."

"Hell yeah. If you're down to ride to the rescue then so am I."

Mildred moved to open the door.

"Sometimes it might be better not to do anything... but that sometime doesn't strike me as today." Misa says, wishing things had gone better as she follows Mildred.

Tadano Team
As the group prepares to walk into the portal, Sugiura's voice could be heard around the corner.
"Hey guys....where did-"
He pauses as he walks around, his eyes widening as he sees what's going on.
"That's a....That's one of those Domain things, right? Akuma and all that? Uh....did Miyazono go through there? I don't know where he went."
As Shiro and Aika leave to....well, go back to lunch, they witness something.

Specifically, a Domain door, resembling an ornate, Baroque-style door, something you would find in an opera house or a music hall, standing in the hallway right in front of them, the students running away from it, screaming. Cracks in reality ripple forth from it.

"Oh, you gotta be-" Shiro cut herself off with a growl under her breath. Fine. I need to work off some stress anyway. This stuff wasn't going to leave her alone, so she might as well just deal with it. Shiro crossed her arms, waiting for the hall to clear, then stalked forward, headed directly for the Domain.
