Akihiko takes a moment to breathe.

Saya. Saya was in danger. Other people were, too.

Saya needed him. Saya needed him. No time for fear. This was it.

He cracks his knuckles. The fear had washed away, leaving only will. He knew the rumours about Akuma attacks. He knew how dangerous they could be.

He looks around, settling into what Saya would always call "fight mode".
"...yeah. Don't worry, Honda. I got this. Watch my back."

With a running start, he leads Mildred down the halls, the sounds of their footsteps echoing. Akihiko's eyes shift left and right, making sure to scan for others in the hall.

A flicker of bronze in the corner of Akihiko's eyes. His eyes widened.  He stops, suddenly, and ducks, avoiding a bronze, metallic tentacle smashing into the wall where his head had been. Another tentacle thrusts into Akihiko, only for him to smash it aside with a closed fist. The force throws Akihiko back slightly, and he winces, clutching his hand.

"What the hell...?"

Before Mildred and Akihiko stands a glowing, moon-like creature, craggly skin resembling moon rocks, metallic tentacles flailing about, a red gem-like eye in the middle, staring down at Akihiko and Mildred.
The sound of the tentacles smashing rock echo through the corridors to Shiro, suddenly. If she knew anything at all about the school, it was two turns to the right.

[Chevaleresse]

Suddenly, a crash. Something slamming into something else, something crumbling. Sounds that she didn't exactly expect in a school. The smart thing would have been to head in the opposite direction, but Shiro wasn't quite thinking straight. Besides, she had to know what the hell it was, right?

She hurried down the first turn, then approached the second more slowly. A little caution wouldn't hurt, regardless.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"You keep those fucking tentacles away from us, you son of a bitch!"

Mildred spun once for momentum and hucked the bag as hard as she could at the creature, going for the eye but not particularly caring where she hit it as long as she hit it. Before the bag even landed she was already looking for something else and settled on a garbage can.

"Keep moving and find Saya! I'll hold this one up!"

Mildred didn't think she could actually win the fight - from what she heard, humans were just flat-out boned against these things - but she could distract it long enough for Kasuga to continue on. And then she'd find her own escape.

[Happerry]

Misa, too, finds herself plunged into this mysterious world as she and Chiyo head to the nurse's office. One moment, Chiyo was explaining to her something.
"Uniform? Ah...yes. That....you wear that at school, right. Uh, well, I-"

The next, the world turned blue, the fog filled her vision, and every other student and teacher in Hermelin had disappeared. A few distant footsteps could be heard, a distant sobbing....
...and yet remained Chiyo, a clear look of concern on her face.
"...oh no."

"What? What's..." Misa twists around, looking around with panic.

"What is this?" As she speaks, she grows louder with panic. "What's going on!?"

[Unlurking Sentinel]

Masaru was still struggling to regain focus when the 'shift' occurred before his eyes (or at least, as close to it as such a subtle transition could be).


W-wasn't it lunchtime just now? He couldn't possibly have fallen asleep at his desk; even if such a delinquency from him was conceivable, that horrible chill would've kept him awake. And even if it truly was nighttime... something was horribly wrong about it.


"I-I have to get home. If someone found me in the school after closing, my reputation wouldn't survive!" He tried to make the situation more mundane than it was, to keep a semblance of his nerves. In truth, he could sense that his reputation wasn't what might not survive this. He carefully exited his desk... gathered all of his belongings into his bag... navigated out of the first-year classroom he was in... and desperately bolted towards the nearest fire exit.

Akihiko looks back at Mildred, ducking as she throws the bag. It crashes into the rock-moon-eyeball creature, not visibly harming it, but distracting it for a few seconds.
"That thing's between us and Saya. I...wait."

He looks at the wall to the side of the creature before them, then to Mildred.
"I'm going to do something very, very stupid. We're both getting out of here."
The boy suddenly leaps to the side, tentacles surging towards him, only for Akihiko's foot to land on the wall, the young man to launch himself off of it, and swing his leg into it as hard as he could. The creature, like his earlier parry and Mildred's throw, doesn't seem to be visibly hurt. However, it seems to be flailing to hit Akihiko, who manages to duck behind it, the eye open for a garbage can to be thrown.

"Now, Honda!"

This is the scene Shiro finds herself in; Akihiko dropkicking a rock-like, tentacled miniature moon creature, and Mildred throwing increasingly larger objects at it.
Chiyo grabs Misa's shoulders firmly, but gently. She looks her, dead in the eye.
"Stay close to me, please. You are in a Domain. It's dangerous in here. I....I think I know why you're in here. If I'm right, I'm sorry. This is going to be....dangerous."
She takes Misa's hand.
"I will see if I can get you out of here."
Masaru, as he exits the classroom, can hear quietened footsteps.
...
Mori and Shoji are approaching the classrooms, and can hear someone exiting one. An Akuma? No, could be a student. Not heavy enough, anyway.

[Chevaleresse]

"What the hell is that!?" She backed off a few steps, trying and mostly failing to get a handle on the situation. With no rational response presenting itself, she simply mimicked the first thing she saw - i.e., Mildred throwing something at it. Shiro hucked her bag at the thing with a more-than-slightly panicked shout. "And why is it just you two here!?"

[Smoke Mirrors]

Mori paused briefly, and began quietly moving towards the classroom door. It was probably a student, but he was prepared to turn and run if he was wrong.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Fuck if I know!"

Mildred launched the garbage can at the creature and grabbed a folding chair that had been leaning on the wall behind where the can had been, most likely forgotten.

"I do know we need to get out of here! Get past it while you can!"

The third-year dashed in and broke the chair over the creature, then backed away with two metal sticks that ended in jagged points.

"Here, catch!"

She tossed one toward Shiro, since she knew Kasuga could defend himself well enough with his fists, and tried to maneuver around to where he was.

Akihiko lands on the opposite side of the beast as Shiro and Mildred's projectiles smash into its gem-like eye. It emits a metallic, inhuman roar, screeching and falling to the side, with the chairshot to the head not helping matters. Still, it seems about as hurt as a human with a splinter in its toe. Which, one might imagine, isn't very much hurt, but it's down for now. Smashing a full garbage can into something's eye tends to have that effect.

Akihiko scrabbles to his feet as he lands, looking up at Shiro.
"No time to explain. We need to get out of here. We're trying to find a friend of mine. I...I think she's trapped in here too. Let's go, before it gets back up!"

[Chevaleresse]

Shiro snagged the leg out of the air adroitly, the improvised weapon settling into her hand a bit more comfortably than one would expect from a wealthy heiress.
"Don't have to tell me twice." She didn't hesitate in following Akihiko wherever he led; it was more idea than she had of where she was going, at least.

[SirAston]

One step, she was next to her friends. The next step, they suddenly vanished, together with all the other students, and she found herself in the middle of a strange environment. Strange, yet familiar to that one time in he recent past. Her eyes widened.

"Oh, no... No, no, nononono, nononoNONONO!"

Yui pressed her school back close to her body, clutching it tight, one hand placed on the White Knight plushie dangling from it and squeezing it in her panic that is building up. Her eyes shifted around rapidly, her head and torso twisted around to extend her field of view.

"Cafeteria's close... that's... not the worst place to be in."

She ran towards it, bag still close to her chest, and it didn't took long for her to see a somewhat familiar face at the entrance.

"Su, Suzuki-san? Oh, I'm glad I'm not alone here..."
"... oh no, you being here with me is bad, too... Quick, we need to hide!"

[Unlurking Sentinel]

Masaru hadn't made it far from his classroom when he sighted two other students: he vaguely recognized one of them as one of the Newspaper Club's more important members, but the other one was harder to forget: Sawatari Mori, president of the Theatre Club. Someone who had a good reputation, from what Masaru knew, which only made everything more confusing.


"What are you doing here?! We sh- You shouldn't be on the grounds this late!" Masaru has half-trying to maintain his reputation, half-trying to figure out if anyone else knew what was going on.

[Smoke Mirrors]

Mori couldn't help it. The tension of the situation, combined with Masaru's seeming lack of ability, or rather willingness, to accept that something was not right, was too much. He let out a small laugh, more like a snort or a short chuckle. If the situation had been less or more dire, he might have cracked up. As is, he was a bit too worried to do so.


"Hmmm? I wasn't aware that we were supposed to leave after lunch, today," Mori replied "but, well, I'm a bit more concerned about the Akuma than that, to be fair."

Turning to be more serious, Mori continued.


"Since it seems you haven't figured it out, there's an Akuma in the school. We're trapped inside it's domain, and I don't know how many of us are here or why, but I'm trying to find everyone so we can at least try to be safe. Someone already ran off towards what I think was the Akuma and may or may not be dead, which I will process later after I'm done not dying. As for now, you are going to follow my instructions as between the two of us, I seem to have a better idea of the situation. Got it?"

[Unlurking Sentinel]

So... it was really happening. Masaru didn't know very much about Akuma, but he knew enough to have the fear of death put into him. He likely would've remained paralyzed... if not for Mori's last sentence.


"'Your' instructions? Pardon me, but in the absence of teachers, is it not the student council's duty to lead the student body in times of need? Senpai or not, I can handle my own duties, thank you."


"...But if you're aiding in a rescue effort, it would be remiss of me not to join you." Indeed, if he knew before that others were in the school, it would simply be shameful to try and escape on his own. Even if his life depended on it.


"President Koga and Vice President Nanjo likely had lunch on the rooftop, and Secretary Tadano likely joined them; if we are to find them, that is likely where their route started. A large number of students are likely coming from the cafeteria around this time, as well."
