--- Underhanded Elders ---
The Elders of the tribe meet to decide upon a new chief. As the two of you have very similar views on how the tribe should be run, you’ve decided to ensure that one of you will be the new chief.
And you’re not opposed to a few underhanded tricks in order to ensure it! You have devised some secret magics that will allow one of you each Spirit Walk to attack another Elder and force them from the Spirit Realm. This will take them out of running for the Chief, and make your task that much easier.
Toonyman (Underhanded)
A lover of water, you spent many hours along the streams and ponds of your home. There you learned to communicate with the Frog Spirit, and have learned powerful magics from it.
Main Power: Tongue Lashing - Once during the game you may declare the vote you just cast to be a Hammer as long as whoever you are voting has a majority of the players voting for them (including you)
Minor Power: Croaking Chorus - Once per game your vote may count twice. This vote must be on someone who already has votes on them and cannot be used in the same Vote Phase that you use your Tongue Lashing.
UselessMcMiner (Underhanded )
A few generations ago they began to live with the tribe, the Housecats. Long have you admired their efficiency as hunters, small though they may be. To your delight, you formed a strong enough bond with them that the Cat Spirit has agreed to guide you and has taught you magics to aid you.
Main power - Charming - It takes 1 extra vote over normal in order to vote you out of the Moot.
Minor power - Silent - Your actions in the Spirit Walk are untrackable
You will also have a restricted channel in the discord where you can plot and scheme in peace. I will grant you access to it once you are in the discord.
-- Underhanded Ally --
Vector (non-town)
They are ubiquitous, the Sparrows. They live around and among the tribe. Resourceful creatures, and you have formed a bond with their Spirit as a guide. It has taught you well the secrets of its kind, not only to survive but to thrive where others fail.
And in that wisdom, you see that it would be best for you if Toonyman or UselessMcMiner become chief. Unfortunately, they did not trust you enough to bring you into their confidence, but you know they are working together. You win if either of them becomes chief, but lose if they are both eliminated.
Main Power: Adaptable - Each Spirit walk you may choose one power held by an Elder who has been removed from the Moot and use it during that Spirit walk or the next Vote phase (as appropriate). You may only select any given power once per game.
Minor Power: Eavesdropper - you know who the underhanded Elders are.
--- Elders ---
4maskwolf (Town )
The Wolf, a renowned hunter that all tribes respect. You, however, have managed to impress them enough that you have been able to speak with one as a Spirit Guide, and it has granted you magic as part of its teachings.
Main power - Track - Each Spirit Phase you may follow another Elder to see where they go.
Minor power - Keen Nose - You will know if anyone came near you during the Spirit Phase, though not who or how many.
EuchreJack (town)
The Rat is a small thing, and yet even small things have power and wisdom. You have been guided by the Spirit Rat, and it has granted you magics as part of its teachings.
Main power: Hoarding - If you do not vote on one day your vote counts double the next. Does not accumulate.
Minor power: Elusive - Once per game if you were to be attacked during the Spirit walk that attack will fail.
--
Knightwing64 (town)
In the warm waters of the ocean can occasionally be found the Immortal Jellyfish. An unusual totem, to be sure, but one that has taught you many things and magics over the years.
Main Power: Enduring - If you are attacked in the Spirit Walk you retreat to a deep trance. You may not post or vote during the next Vote phase, but are active again starting the next Spirit Walk. You do not flip as you are in “too deep a trance” to remove from the Tent, and the others will be aware that something odd is going on.
Minor Power: Follow the currents - your vote breaks ties
--
Maximum Spin (town)
The Pangolin knows many things about the Spirit world, and you have learned much having it as a totem, including the secrets of several magics.
Main Power: Digger - You can dig up secrets in the spirit world, discovering if a particular player is an Underhanded Elder or not each Spirit Phase.
Minor Power: Defensive posture - If you choose not to take your action you are immune to attacks in the Spirit Realm that night.
--
Roden (town)
The Fox is well known in story and myth. Quick witted and fleet of foot, it bounds through the Spirit Realm learning all that it can of what is going on. Under the guidance of your totem, you have learned several useful magics that aid you in your tasks as an Elder.
Main Power: Big Ears - You may gossip with spirit creatures during the night, and discover how many people had actions they performed (though not who or what actions).
Minor Power: Trickster - You may choose to skip getting gossip to instead redirect one player to target another. If they performed no actions that night this does nothing.
--
TricMagic (town)
A curious creature, the Platypus confuses many who meet it. You, however, had reached an understanding of this Totem that few before have ever matched, and it has taught you powerful magics in return.
Main Power: Sense the unseen - By paying attention to details unseen by others you may inspect another player during the Spirit Walk to learn their Spirit Totem and Main Power.
Minor Power: Poison spurs - If you are attacked during the Spirit Walk you will lash out at your attacker. This will not save you, but you will weaken them, removing all powers from your attacker for the next Vote and Spirit Walk phases.
--
webadict (town)
While tiny compared to many animals, the Spider is a major force in the world that it lives in. And in the Spirit Realm the Spider is powerful indeed. You have learned well from this Totem, and mastered several magics that it alone can teach.
Main Power: Web of Words - Each Vote phase you may nullify the vote of another player for that Vote phase. This effect is only visible during the final votecount of the day.
Minor Power: Pull the Strings - Instead of using Web of Words you may instead make a player who’s vote you had previously nullified count twice during the current Vote Phase.
Maximum Spin
You awaken on a large grassy field. The Pangolin lies next to you on the ground, sniffing around. It looks up as your eyes open.
Ah, you are aware of your surroundings again. Excellent. What is it that you wish for this visit?
“I would like to see what we can dig up on webadict.”
The Pangolin snuffs a bit in the dirt. Hmm. Yes, yes. We can do that. Follow
You trail along after the Pangolin, periodically picking up bits of dirt and tufts of vegetation that it uproots with its claws. You can sense glimmers of information within, but not what you seek.
Eventually the Pangolin stops and tears at an old tree stump. Glimmering termites fall from the bark, and it points to one.
You pick it up and the insect disperses into a cloud of shimmering light. Gazing into the cloud, you get vague images. In each one you see webadict putting the needs of the tribe above his own.
“So he is Loyal, yes?”
I see nothing that indicates otherwise, no.
You nod your head in thanks to the Guide and make your way through the Spirit lands, pondering what you have learned.
At last you come across a cliff face up on a hill. You often come here to gaze out over the ever changing but beautiful lands of the Spirit World. As you stand and enjoy the view you are suddenly hit from behind and propelled outwards. You scream in terror for a minute as the ground rushes up at you, and then awake with a start.
You are outside of the Elder’s Tent, with one of the attendants wiping your forehead with a damp cloth.
It seems that you have lost not only the chance to become chief, but the opportunity to pass on what you have learned. A pity, but nothing to be done now. You can only hope that the others manage to choose the next Chief wisely.
[You have been eliminated, and will be granted access to the Dead Chat area on Discord]

Roden
Your eyes open to a canopy of foliage above you. You are sitting inside a large bush, and crouched beside you is your Fox Guide.
Hello hello! barks your friend.
“Hello!” You smile and nod your head.
What shall we do this day?
“I was thinking perhaps some gossip with some of the other spirits would be good. We are selecting a new Chief, and I fear not everyone takes the old traditions seriously enough.”
Ah, very well. Let us see what our ears can learn, eh? the Fox bounds up and out of the bush.
You follow a bit less gracefully. The two of you spend a fair amount of time wandering around and chatting with the Spirits. They don’t pay great attention to what goes on with mortals, but you learn enough to determine that four other Elders were particularly active during this Spirit Walk.
You chat with the Fox about this for a bit before you feel yourself begin to awaken. It will be time to Vote again soon.

TricMagic
The sound of running water is the first thing you sense as you arrive in the spirit realm. There in a stream splashes your guide, the Platypus.
Oh ho! Welcome, friend!
“Thank you, wise Spirit.” you nod your head in respect. “We are busy trying to determine our new Chief, and I would ask your assistance in Sensing that with others cannot.”
Hmm, yes. Wise. the Platypus digs its bill into the mud a bit, then surfaces. Yes. Much to sense. What do you seek?
“I would know who guides Maximum Spin, if possible”
Follow
You wade into the stream and sift through the mud with your guide. As you do so you begin to sense things that you could not otherwise. Eddies and currents of energy that flow and direct you to grab a particular rock.
You pull it out of the water, and present it to your guide.
The Pangolin knows many things about the Spirit world. It is a fine Digger] and can dig up secrets in the spirit world, discovering if a particular player is an Underhanded Elder or not each Spirit Phase.
Strong Spirit guide, yes. Very wise and knowledgeable.
“Indeed. I can only hope they are trustworthy.”
You place down the rock and spend a while chatting with your guide before you begin to feel yourself awakening. It will be time to vote again, soon. But at least you know more than when you started the Spirit Walk.
--
UselessMcMiner
You open your eyes to find yourself sitting up in a gigantic tree. Your Cat guide sits next to you, grooming a paw.
Good to see you, mortal. What brings you to the Spirit realms?
“Oh, I was hoping we could do a bit of hunting.” You smile at the Cat.
Ahhh, I always enjoy a good bit of sport. What shall we hunt?
“Maximum Spin. He might be a bit of a bother, and I’d like him out of the Moot.”
Hmm, yes. That could be entertaining. Follow.
The cat stretches, leaps off the branch, and then bounds off through the woods. You leap down and follow, running silently through the woods.
After some time the Cat crouches down. You do as well, and follow as it creeps through some bushes. After a bit you spy Maximum Spin ahead, staring off at the distance as he stands near the edge of a cliff to enjoy the view.
With a quick burst of speed you rush out shove the other Elder. He lets out a shout as he is propelled into the air and off the edge. A few moments later his cry is cut off as he is removed from the Spirit lands.
Ha! Too easy! The Cat lashes its tail back and forth. But fun. I liked the cry of surprise.
“Me too.” You smirk. Then, after a few minutes, you thank the Cat and wander off to go find your compatriot. They will be pleased to learn of your success.

Vector
Your eyes open to an area of open forest. The canopy of trees lies high above you while small birds flit around between the branches.
On a young sapling nearby sits your Sparrow Guide.
Hi hi!
You smile and bow you head. “Hello to you as well, my friend.”
What do you wish to learn today, mortal? the Sparrow tilts its head in curiosity.
“I was thinking I would try to learn some secrets from the Wolf.”
Ahhhh. Yes. We watch the Wolf closely. Powerful and Deadly, at least to those who can’t fly. Very Keen Nose has the Wolf. Yes. Close your eyes, and think only about what you can smell.
You open up your senses fully, taking in the full wonder of the Spirit Lands, and then focus your attention only upon that which you can smell. You are buffeted by a world of scents that you were only vaguely aware of before.
It takes a while, but with the help of the Sparrow you are able to eventually sift through them and identify what is what without any other senses aiding you.
Very good. With that sense you should know if any other mortals are around or have been nearby. Do you sense any?
You concentrate for a while, and eventually conclude that you are alone. No one else has been near you during this Walk.
You begin to feel yourself awakening. It will be time to Vote again soon. You have not learned much, perhaps, but it may be enough to matter.
EuchreJack
You wander through the dark woods with your Rat guide leading the way. As you go, you discuss the Moot and what has happened so far.
Things go well, perhaps. But in order to become chief you will need to...wait! Your guide stops suddenly, ears and whiskers twitching.
Danger! Your guide dives in a nearby bush as a larger, human, form comes out of the shadows at you. The glint of a knife is all you can make out in the dim light, but that is enough to realize you are in danger indeed.
Surprised, you stumble backwards and fall into a large bush.
Drawing upon the secret magics taught by your guide your form shifts and shrinks until you are but a Rat yourself.
The two of you quickly dash down an old mole tunnel and follow it for some time.
We should be safe here, I think. Good use of what I taught you!
“Thanks” you pant, nearly exhausted. “Though I don’t think I will be able to do that again for a while.”
The Rat’s nose twitches in laughter. Probably not. But better than being something’s lunch!
You can only agree with that assessment. The two of you spend a while longer in the Spirit Realm, both in Rat form, before you feel the call of the waking world once again.
Time to Vote, once again.
--
Roden
The smell of the forest surrounds you. You open your eyes to see you Fox guide looking at you.
Back again! Good! What shall we do now?
“How about some mischief? I have a hunch that UselessMcMiner is up to no good. Let’s see if we can ruin their plans.”
Fun! What did you want to do?
“Let’s send them at EuchreJack’s way. I think that’ll be safer.”
Right! Off we go! your Guide bounds up and races off into the woods.
You follow along for a bit until you find your guide sniffing around. Yes, good.. I have found trails. We should be able to do what you want. Grab those plants over there
You gather up some pungent herbs and at the direction of your Guide you carefully use them to mask the first trail that your Guide found.
Excellent! Now, brush my coat to get some loose fur.
You do so, and then follow along with your guide and let the hairs fall along the path that the Fox is leading you.
That done, the two of you climb up a nearby hill and crouch down inside of a large bush.
Done and done! Should work, I think, provided that they are actually out doing stuff to others.
You thank your friend, and sit and relax a bit before you feel the waking world calling to you again.
It is time to get back to the Moot. You can only hope that your actions have helped.
--
TricMagic
The sound of water fills your ears. You awaken on the bank of the stream, your Guide in the water beside you and looking up at you.
You return. The Moot continues, then, and I expect you have more secrets to learn.
“Correct as always, my Friend. Yes, I wish to see what secrets we can learn of Vector.”
Your Guide nods and begins to dig through the mud of the steam bed.
You follow along, sifting through mud and pulling up things that might be interesting.
Eventually your hands stop on a peculiarly shaped root. You show it to your Guide, who studies it for a bit.
Ah, the Sparrow. Resourceful and Adaptable, they watch and learn from those around them and so thrive. As a Guide, the Sparrow can help one to study those outside of the Moot Tent and mimic their talents. Well, for a short time anyway.
There is much wisdom to be gained from observing others. A powerful ally, or a dangerous foe is one who listens to that Guide.
You nod as you ponder what you have learned.
Soon you feel yourself awakening once again. The Moot must continue.
--
UselessMcMiner
Your eyes open to a large thicket. Your Cat guide crouches next to you, carefully watching the underbrush.
Ah. You are here. Good. I saw a bug go into that bush. Do you see it?
“Noooo.” You say, slowly, not seeing anything moving. “But, forget the bug. I want to go hunting webadict!”
Hmm. I suppose we could do that. Are you sure you don’t see the bug?
“Yeah, I’m sure.”
Very well. The cat gets up and pads off through the forest. You rise and follow.
After some time you find yourself in the old, dark woods. The light barely penetrates here, and you move through shadows so thick it is difficult to see.
“Are you sure he’s here?” you ask your Guide, doubtfully.
Yes, yes. I have been following his tracks. He is close. Listen!
You hear it. Muffled voices talking. The shaking of some branches.
Go! Finish the hunt!
You reach down to your belt and pull out a short bladed knife, and then rush out through the underbrush to catch your prey off guard.
Surprised, your target stumbles backwards and falls into a large bush. You wade in after them, but they seem to have...vanished? How? There is no way a human could have snuck out from that bush without you seeing. Or hearing, for that matter.
You and the Cat search the bush and the surrounding area. Nothing.
Your spirit feels the tug of the waking world. It seems you are out of time.
Frustrating, to be sure. You will need to be quick of words this phase, then, if you wish to retain any chance of being Chief.
--
Vector
You are standing in a field. Warm light surrounds you and the smell of flowers fills the air.
Swaying on the thin branch of a young tree sits your Guide, who chirps happily to see you again.
You bow in greeting. “My friend, I was thinking this time that it would be good to learn from the Frog”.
Ahhh. The frog! It speaks loud and strong. Their voice carries over the lands and all who live near the water will hear what they have to say. But that is not their strongest use of their tongue, no. Used properly, a Tongue Lashing can end any discussion.
You feel...a bit more confident about your ability to control conversations. Or, at least, your ability to end them.
During the next Vote Phase you may declare the vote you just cast to be a Hammer as long as whoever you are voting has a majority of the players voting for them (including you).
You spend a pleasant while chatting with the Sparrow before you feel that it is time to awaken again.
The Moot continues.
