That would explain the dropped crossbow and the falling over.  Looks to me like an interesting but misinterpreted gamelog.

Yea, thats why I said it may have been misinterpreted.  It could have been anything from a kobold to a goblin.  That thought about guards of different religions sounds possible too, what with the civil war and all that happens when goblins kill their demon lord.

As a test, someone should get a bow and shoot one arrow above their own position.  Just to see what will happen.

*you can't hit yourself/teammates.
*if npc is hit in the nervous part, he may drop weapon/shield/whatever he is holding
*if the npc is killed he can drop weapon/shield/whatever he is holding upon death
