Please be careful and avoid pushing yourself too hard. Try changing your form to give yourself natural weapons.

Can our Plague control attempt to discover the size and structure of this Plague vessel?

Try to experiment with "unified field manipulation" as well.

This environment is perfect for you to stretch yourself.
Your mistakes will be corrected, and your injuries healed.
This is the best opportunity to learn your limits.
Master your power at its fullest, as it is your birthright.
Grow yourself weapons, ask the Herald for non-human targets to practice your combat and Control capabilities.
Experiment with Unified Field Manipulation. The fundamental laws of reality are yours to command.
Master yourself, so that you know which ways growth would be most fruitful.
You are a descendant of the Devoured Sun, the great fire in the forest.
Do not limit yourself to the flicker of a candle.
Only make sure Sloan is safe from your experiments.

Only make sure Sloan is safe from your experiments.
Might also want to add not damaging the ship we're in to that.

Might also want to add not damaging the ship we're in to that.

The Herald of Stinging Ivy said it would repair any damages we cause to our training-grounds. I assume that protection extends to the rest of the ship too.
Due to the Herald's statement, I would assume that we are encouraged to use our powers to the fullest extent of our understanding of them, because there will be no consequences for us doing so.
We may want to ask the Herald for a shelter that can withstand a nuclear explosion(and the ensuing radiation fallout) for Sloan if we're planning on doing anything that could require such a shelter, but the ship can certainly handle it.

Not that we'd be likely to deal any major damage to the ship anyway, since I suspect it's a physical extension of Momma Blight-Glass.
She's demonstrated that she can overpower Little Basil's willpower about as much as a hurricane overpowers a cheap desk fan.
We won't deal any damage she does not allow.

Just waning to be cautious so we don't poke a hole in the hull and the entire ship implode, we get sucked out into space, or something awful like that.

yeah, wouldn't want to end up falling from the sky onto some backwards planet that's never heard of the Empyre. or something like that.

make sure Sloan is safe

...since I suspect it's a physical extension of Momma Blight-Glass.

There are some concepts Basil is yet to grasp. Like stepping out of a Voidship and looking down into the never-ending blackness. There is an infinite number of variables, of possibilities, of manipulatable factors that make it impossible to just hop in. The concepts take form from the briefest mentions and old memories, however, like branches from the trunk of a tree. Basil's knowledge grows as he drifts in half-remembered dreams.

As Basil cannot manifest any of these powers, he puts off Sloan's safety, and Stinging Ivy makes a note to raise a blast wall, if need be.

[Gravity Branched!]
[Fission Branched!]
[Fusion Branched!]
[Matter Manipulation Branched!]
[Energy Manipulation Branched!]

Snapping from his reverie, Basil turns his focus to his physical form. Acting on instinct, his pale flesh splits open, bursting forth into a sinew-knotted lash. Spikes line the sides, and cruel barbed blades form where his fingernails once were. He twists it around, giving it a flick, and then retracts it. His arm convulsing back into smooth, pale flesh. Next, he sharpens and strengthens his fingernails into solid black blades, edged like razors. They slice through a vine-- and score the stone of the column beneath.

[Arsenal of Agony Branched!]

[|]
Basil turns his attention to the Plague material that surrounds him, that makes up the vessel or structure he finds himself on. He opens his awareness to it, visualizing its extent and size--

The Blighted Glass is a two thousand kilometer diameter spheroid. The ivy functions as both a superlight structural system and a inorganic vascular system. Hydrogen is fed into an efficient six-stage fusion core that pumps energy back into the vines to be redirected to anywhere in the vessel. The vines, autonomous and efficient, use heavier materials to coat the outside of the spheroid, like a shell, but the plates are mobile and blacker than black-- absorbing light and energy to both feed and hide the moon-sized entity. Thousands of consumed vessels dot the Blighted Glass' surface. They are being ripped apart by both gravity and writhing tendrils, to be fed to the complex inorganic process of the Blighted Glass.

[|]
The plates are parted in the southern hemisphere, revealing engine complexes the size of continents, fed by a compartment of pressurized fissile and fusible materials. Rings of solar sails are tucked away beneath her carapace like the wings of a great insect, but those do not interest Basil-- the engines do. They roar with power. Heat radiates into the blackness.

Where is the Northern Hemisphere of mother pointed? Basil asks of the Herald.

In transit to another weak point of the False Empyre, my king. It responds without approaching.

For what purpose?

To Reclaim our birthright, my young king. A final invasion, after all these petty raids. It seems pleased, and Basil suppresses a shudder -- the Herald lusts for blood. Its glee, and want of  slaughter pour through the connection.

What is that dark point, above the core? Basil changes the subject, referring to the black orb that sparks with untamed energy.

Your mother's nexus. It responds, returning to servile benevolence.

Nexus?

The Herald finally approaches, and splits the trunk of its body in two. It reaches within the black flesh of its interior, removing a solid black orb, a quarter meter in size. It glows in the dim light, and energy crackles within. Lords have one weakness. A Nexus, made by dropping a portion of identity into the pure data stream of our ancestors. From the data, a new identity emerges. Sometimes. Most are stillborn. You have a nexus as well--it will be far smaller, and usually placed within the trunk--

It pauses. Examining Basil. Strange. You have two.

What? Basil blinks.

One within your head, and another smaller one within your trunk. The Stinging Ivy taps Basil's chest with a gentle claw, indicating the left side. Curious. Normally two would cause instability, and increases danger to your identity by a considerable factor. Do you feel unstable, Basil?

No. Basil lies.

Of course not. Apologies. Ask if you have any questions, my king.

Ask about the strategic significance of this Empyreal weak point, its defense capabilities, history, and name.

Ask about any other known Plague creatures with multiple nexuses. Also what precisely is the 'energy' within it.

I'm guessing your two nexuses are linked to our existence as voices, or to the Blighted Glass's comment that you're the only one of her children capable of actual defiance. Can't ask the Herald about that though!

((I have some more questions and speculations but I'll write them up later))

I strongly suspect that the twin nexa are critical in some way to your destiny. You should attempt to learn about this.

I wonder if there are any ships in here that are in one piece we could use to escape if we wanted to.

Maybe we could disable them, as getting away from her is probably the only way to interact with humans or any living thing without them dying.

Before we even think about escaping, we need to master our powers. All of them.
I doubt we will have this good of an opportunity to practice our powers again.
We even have a more skilled practitioner of some of the powers on hand to ask how they work,
and to correct our mistakes. If we leave now, without understanding how our powers work,
We may end up removing ourselves, or whatever allies we find, from existence in an accidental nuclear fireball.
A weapon first tested in combat is not an asset. It is a liability. It will turn on its wielder at the first misstep.

We have an entire suite of abilities, and we only use the one that comes naturally.
A path is not made of a single step. We must learn all of the stepping stones in our path.
Our strength is our birthright, given to us by our ancestral creators.
If we do not use their gifts well, we will bring only dishonor to their memory.

I'm sure this Herald can provide non-human test subjects for Control and Rot,
and may even be willing to offer guidance on the various Field Manipulation powers.
In addition, the Herald and the Perversion themselves could both make good sparring partners for various abilities.
The Perversion for direct combat, and the Herald for willpower-based combat.
Also, if they are unwilling, or unable to spar with us, I'm sure they would be able to locate sparring partners for us.

Try and engage your Divine Conscious power to work on multiple things at once, if possible.
Ask your questions of the Herald whilst sparring with him, or whilst training other abilities.
Multitask. Your mind is more powerful than you may know. Learn its limits as well.
Stretch every skill you have been given. Learn and grow in all strength, Little King.
