Any way to change game speed in-game?
« on: September 30, 2021, 06:54:22 pm »

Is there any way to adjust the speed of the game without having to restart the program?

I'm running a small fort at 200 FPS, but when combat occurs, it happens too quickly for me to enjoy it.

Are there any in-game options or DFHack commands that would let me raise or lower the FPS limit without having to save and exit every time?

FPS in Gravearmor (925+ dwarves) is 2-5 (v0.47.05 lives on).

Yes, check the bottom of this page:

Are you serious?  I've even looked at that wiki page before!  How did I not see this?

As a heads-up, I tried this several times before and it never worked with the default keybinds.  I had to set the keybinds in the main menu.

Didn't know this either.

Then again, fast fps is a problem that solves itself eventually.

Just got a chance to play again, and it totally works.  Was able to slow things down to watch dwarves walk about and see bolts travel through every step.  Then I could speed it up again to see what FPS my fortress was truly capable of (223).

Uthimienure is my hero for pointing out my inability to RTFM!
