Astrid's knock is met by an elderly woman. "Oh my, a visitor?" she says, "I wasn't expecting anyone, certainly not a dashing young knight like yourself." She giggles jovially to herself before continuing seriously, "I'm sure this is no courtesy call, I haven't seen a visit from anyone more than my little Danwell and his boy in three years. What did you need dearie?"

"Afraid it's not, ma'am." Astrid said, as polite yet hurriedly as she could. "There are bandits coming towards us; this house may not be safe, shortly. Do you think you can make it to the town, maybe stay with some family?"

"Astrid Frei, ma'am. I'll stick outside for a minute to make sure nobody untoward interrupts..." And take care of that someone if they do...

"Thank you very much, Lady Astrid." the old woman said with a smile. She shut the door gently and Astrid could hear her scurry back into the house to gather her things. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long.

Hagen made a quick jab to finish off the bandit, but after a moment switched into swinging the butt of his spear into the head of his opponent. No reason to kill him when he could be properly brought to justice.

"Sorry, but I'm afraid you're not the first to try and attack me in such a fashion. You're free to try again if if you're still standing in the next few seconds" Valerie commented as she weaved past the Vagabond's strike, nodding in the direction of Hagen as the later made his attack.

As the bandit's axe swung towards Astrid, the door behind her suddenly flung open and the elderly woman stepped in between the two combatants. She no longer held the appearance of a helpless old lady. She was now clad in heavy armor and carrying a massive axe. Evidently this was what she meant when she said she was, "gathering her things."

"That seems unnecessary." The woman said as she deftly caught the axe with her now-armored hand. Moments later her own axe swung upwards, bisecting the vagrant with horrifying ease. The woman then hefted the axe over her shoulder and flexed her free arm, proudly declaring, "Hoo-ah!"

Astrid felt a little embarassed that she'd been having such a fight with the bandit only for the man to be ended instantly, especially after she'd been on about planning to protect the old woman.

"Well... I guess you didn't need my help, after all, huh?"

The woman chuckled. "It's appreciated nonetheless dearie. Amara McDonnel, at your service." She gave Astrid a conspicuous wink and continued, "The border is always dangerous, but this is the first I've gotten word of a bandit raid before it hit the village. It feels good to wear my armor again."

"Hm. Doesn't seem like it. Fantastic work Lord Hagen" Valerie commented once again as the vagabond fell to the ground, spinning on her heel and swiftly moving over to the now regrouped knight, giving the other knight (an old lady by the looks of it. Valerie was quite surprised she could move in that armor) a small wave before getting to work on Astrid.

Valerie moves to L10 and Heals Astrid.
