Not in the most fundamental sense, no. In the sense of the word as applied to certain territories discussed earlier, sure, just not there.

I know what azimuth is.
You forgot that the word is in the name of various places. As far as I know, "azimuth" is only in the name of a couple minor features of Antarctica.

It is an important feature of navigation in any context in which it exists. You could still navigate without knowing it, if you know landmarks or something. However, it's not really a part of the navigation process itself... it's not the sun or a sextant or something.

Not at all, in most cases. There are instruments that can help and situations in which you might need them.
