Is it often associated with problem solving and/or pattern recognition?
No.
Is it generally considered a good thing?
Perhaps not.
Can animals experience it?
Uhh... I guess?

Is it a natural occurrence?

Is it a natural occurrence?
Yes. At the same time, though, its definition is (to an extent) arbitrary and not meaningful without humans to define it as such.

Lemme guess, we defined it as something only humans can do despite not knowing whether other animals can have it?

Is that your next question? I guess it's a perfectly valid question even if it is not the traditional way to phrase things in this thread.

Then no, that's not really applicable in this context.

Is it a sensation?
Isn't everything, kind of? Or at least made out of them? Any concept is a name for a group of sensations, at the end of the day, since that's the only way we have to experience the world.

Not any more than everything else, at any rate.

How can I be sure that the sight of your words (and every other sensation that I experience) isn’t just a hallucination concocted by my own brain?

Not really.

You can't. But, then, so what? You must still act as if it is real, because there is no way to act as if it isn't.

Is it something people experience everyday?
Yes, I guess.
