I didn't know the difference without looking it up. Certainly closer to horn and tusk than it is to skin.
Certainly, yes (well, to horn, not really tusk in my opinion). I tried to point people back to this one when I said to look for another time I used extra words.
However, I would say that it's more related to skin than it is to hooves, since it erupts from the skin and skin (in the form of velvet) can be part of it. I would've said that hooves/nails/claws/etc. or horns were related to skin for similar reasons.

Well that hint helped a tonnnn haha, I had pretty much discounted antlers already because I thought it was a horn. I looked it up right after seeing the hint and realized that might have been it. Definitely should have read more into the "strictly speaking" part.
