I'm just wondering if delphonso is asking whether said subject is from a setting like Earth, or from a mythos that exists in a real life culture.

That's a good question. Is the sword from a "real-world" cultural narrative?

Where was it established that the weapon is a sword?

Is there anyone living who claims to be in possession of the sword, but refuses to show it to anybody?

This version of the sword, no.

No

Is the sword from Asia?

No

I'm struggling to remember the exact details of this one, and it's not on the wikipedia page.

I will say that there is a living being who has the sword, and does not go around showing it to everybody.
