Well, I learned in school that a noun is a person, place, thing, concept, or idea.  A person is different from a place, so a concept must be different from an idea (I’m just not really sure how, at the moment)…

Interesting. For me it was just the straight School House Rock, a person, place, or thing. Concepts and ideas seem like kinds of thing to me, as well as being more or less synonyms.

That definitely depends on how you parse the word "exist". I'd say yes, but I could definitely see someone reasonably answering no.

Remember, though, I said it was only in a sense a concept.
