Miyako was stunned by what just happened. While she was thankful to be alive, all the stress and loud noises had given her a headache, and she had a feeling it was only going to get worse from here.

"I'm... I'm okay."

Underneath it all, Miyako felt shamed.

I tried to run, while the others... they'd have risked everything for the cause.

Sheepishly, she walked back to the group.

"Definitely Kiritani. I saw him. You're right, we need to keep moving. The avalanche won't hold the Empress for long, and-"

She paused in realization.

"And she has Hiroyuki.

From Miyako's left, but not in the same direction as the Empress, she can hear Hiroyuki's voice over the wall.
"Miyako! Thank the gods, you're not buried under the rocks. There's a massive landslide! The road back here is blocked! I don't think the Imperials can get to us, but you're on your own until we can clear this blockage!"

[Chevaleresse]

Madoka pulled herself to her feet in the aftermath of the sudden rockfall.

"I'm going to, um, face her again someday. And I'll win then." Madoka coughed again, before glancing at Todoroki. Her voice still wavered, but it was hard to tell if it was uncertainty or if she was simply still recovering from the hit she'd taken. "Are you okay?"

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Huh. Well, we suppose this solves our issue for now."
"What is going to be our next move?"

Miyako shouted over the rocks, careful with her wording as the Empress could certainly also hear her.

"Sir!"

"You need to tell the bosses that the Empress was here! We'll be fine!"

Relieved that the Empress didn't have Hiroyuki, she then turned to Nullstar, speaking more quietly.

"I think our next move is what we were doing before. Not like we can turn back now."

Todoroki groans as he pulls himself to his feet, looking over Madoka.
"Should be asking you the same thing. She practically knocked both of us over like we were branches in the wind."
The crocodilian Misaki dusts himself off.
"She's pretty damn strong, huh?"

Alice looks around, frowning.
"Well....we did have that mission, right? We had to get to Kaedehara and get those letters to Yusuke's dad."
"That's right, yeah. The road's blocked off, but...I do know a few roads leading there. It'll take us a week or so to get there, and there's only one town between us and there on the fastest road, so better get used to sleeping in the rough."

[Chevaleresse]

"I'll be fine." Madoka nodded at Todoroki, before frowning slightly. "Did you hear what, um, she said?"

"Something about, uh....sword styles being passed down by the thunder god?"

[Chevaleresse]

"She said hers was. Her stance was, um, identical to mine." She tilted her head. "Something about, um, the origin of swords."

"Origin of swords, huh? Weird. What d'you figure that means?"

Dusting herself off as she stepped out into the clearing, and still painfully aware of her inaction against the empress, Amano made her presence known with a simple.
: "I'm here."
There was a brief pause before she continued with.
: "But the empress was really something else huh?"

"She was, and is. But what's your story? I think you came in with Hiroyuki, but..."

She'd been practically shivering with fear since the moment the Empress had appeared. She'd been reluctant before but this. This was a new terror.

"S-So tha-that was the Empress? C-can we really face h-her?"

"Well....we did have that mission, right? We had to get to Kaedehara and get those letters to Yusuke's dad."

"Y-yes! We should-we should...Let's go! Let's cover as much ground as we can!"

Anything to make more distance between them and Her.

[Praefectus Screptum]

"We suppose we should focus on this objective for now...and bide our time. We might need to grow stronger before facing such challenging foe."

"Grow stronger? We could train for ten years and she'd still hand us all our asses."
"She's strong, yes, but....something didn't feel right."
