Lyra moved in to crush the worm-man, ignoring the few worms burrowing into her.

Lyra performs Crush, dealing 7d4+STR (added 2 dice from Chain Bonus) Physical Blunt damage to the Worm Man and reduces their damage output by STR/2 points for 2 turns.

Ignoring the worms failing to find anything fleshy to dig into, Alexandria considers the worm-man.  He's shown some serious unnatural resilience...  And she's got something for that.

Alexandria raises her Graviton Maul in her free hand, and the air distorts around it as she brings it crashing down on the twisted bundle of worms and fabric, stretching and warping the presumable Trespasser's body even further under the effects of the artificial singularity inside its head.  The Worm-Man has two random defensive effects on him suppressed for one round due to getting lightly spaghettified (They're essentially banished.  They still exist, if they have durations they still tick down, but they don't do anything for 1 round).  Then he takes 4d8+9 damage as the hammerhead strikes home.  If he's still grappled when the hammer hits, he can't dodge this.

Despite the glamour this world wove for him, Cicivexa felt the worms dig into his new, mechanical body. Despite this, the substance of it did not resist them nearly to the degree of Alexandria; the sudden discovery of a scenario where his new body being surprisingly organic was distressing was new for Cicivexa. Still, he knew how to operate through the pain.

Cicivexa casts Manaward. The next two attacks targeting Cicivexa deal no damage to him! The Fruits of Hubris wither!

Cicivexa uses Swiftcast! He casts Thunder I, dealing (8d6 + 17 + 10) / 2 Magic/Electric damage to the worm-man and inflicting Thunderstruck for 3 turns. If the victim uses an action with a cooldown or charging time, Cicivexa gains Thundercloud for 1 turn, and the Thunderstruck effect ends.

Music

Osada buffs himself.

Cicivexa’s bolt of lightning crackles through the air and surges through the Worm Man for 31 damage.  A barrier protects him.

Lyra’s wrench crunches satisfyingly for 17 damage on the third swing, sending worms flying in all directions, unfortunately including onto her resulting in another stack of [Infested].

Sakura’s words slam against whatever consciousness exists in the mass of worms and a moment later she feels them thrown back in her own voice, twisted and befouled by it.
“All?  You know of All?  All is Nothing and Nothing is All, abandon these feeble lies!”
Sakura gains a stack of Madness, the Worm Man is immune to Psychic damage.

Her Wicked Slice lashes into the mass of worms for only 2 damage as more of them slide gently out of the way.  The Dark Crescent however makes a much greater impact for 23 damage.  The splattering of worms gives her another stack of [Infested].

Arturia’s wild slashes scarcely avoid Alexandria as she cleaves through more of the worms.  She deals 83 more damage, takes 23 damage, and gains another stack of [Infested].

Alexandria’s maul crashes in for 26 damage, twisting and warping the space the Worm Man exists in and causing its form to fold in on itself for a moment before outwardly returning to the way it was.  Her sensors still register the distortion though.

Despite his restraint by Alexandria the Worm Man lifts an arm to point.  The voices within echo a deafening whisper as he settles on Sakura in the final moment.
“Behold, a Distant Star…”
BOOM!

An unnoticed comet descends from above and impacts with the point where Sakura had been standing, practically detonating and hurling chunks of burning ice in every direction.  Sakura dodges with Witch Time and Lyra hits the deck soon enough to avoid the arc of flying ice.  Cicivexa’s barrier flares brightly as a mass of burning ice the size of his head, and a couple hundred smaller splinters impact against it.  Osada and Arturia each peppered with a few sizable chunks of burning ice, taking 50 and 38 Fire/Ice damage respectively.
Cicivexa gains Thundercloud.

The figure twists in place as the explosion rocks the rest of the party, turning to face Alexandria.
“You need only take one step closer and be unmade.  Creature beyond Time.  Violator of Constants.  Disprover of Lies.”
Alexandria feels a burning necrotic cold coming from the mass of worms against her torso, something that should normally be impossible.  Even so it eats into her metal flesh for 34 damage.

“Join us!  Join us!  Join us!”
As the voices continue to echo and repeat a dark shadow passes over the battlefield.  A stormcloud promising cold rain and worms from Beyond.
Each character gains an additional stack of [Infested] and [Madness].

Something rumbling, like an engine, can be heard in the distance.

The worms burrow further into each of their victims, dealing 14 damage to Osada, 0 to Arturia, 18 to Lyra, 31 to Sakura, and 20 to Cicivexa.

Comet magic... technically impressive to simply prepare out of nowhere. But nothing Cicivexa wasn't used to. Still, it was clear that a protracted battle would do them no good; he began to draw ambient aether released by the levin-purged trespasser's earlier-than-expected escalation, unleashing another, greater shock! And yet, this was nothing compared to the heavensfire that came after!

Cicivexa casts a spell at the Worm-Man as a free action, dealing (8d6 + 17 + 10) Magic/Electric damage!

Cicivexa casts Firaga III, dealing (15d6 + 17 + 10) Magic/Fire damage to the Worm-Man! Up to 17 damage cannot be reduced by DR or resistances!

Despite the slight setback brought on by a massive comet appearing out of nowhere and blasting them with burning ice chunks, Osada still leapt forward, his body screaming at him to run. And run he would have... If not for the fact that he felt obligated to help defend his new partners. And so long as he could at least swing his blade, he would swing it well.

Osada goes ham, using Fifth Form to attack the Worm Man once more, hitting him 4 times for 6d4+24 damage at 60% efficiency once more.

Seeing that everyone seems to have agreed that the best defense is to take the Trespasser down before he can attack again, Alexandria decides to not mess with what worked the last time and hits him with her hammer again.  (Same action as last time)

She had to move faster, hit harder. She charged in yet again, swinging her wrench with something approaching reckless abandon.

Lyra activates Fiasco and Crush, attacking the worm-man twice, deailng 5d4+STR Physical Blunt damage each time and reducing his damage output by STR/2 points for 4 turns.

Sakura uses Dark Crescent, dealing 2d8 + 12 [Dex] damage

For her last action, she activates demon masquerade, assaulting the worm man for 3d8 + 22 [Dex+Syn] damage and stunning them thanks to Wicked Weave!

Is that all? (50% damage increase on both Sakura and the worm man) 2 turns remaining

Combat Override

Osada’s blade crashes into the Worm Man once more, striking for 17, 20, 22, and 21 damage.  This time whatever Alexandria did he felt his weapons make solid contact and could see severed and slashed worms flying from the wounds.

Cicivexa’s second bolt of lightning struck the Worm Man for 55 more damage, followed up by a searing flame that deals another 93 damage.  Every worm in sight contracts and writhes as the coat of the creature is blown open by the force of the attack and the chorus of voices scream in agony.  There is a sudden mass exodus as the worms fling themselves from the bodies of their victims onto the earth and begin burrowing away.

Lyra manages to get a couple more square hits in, even as Alexandria feels the coat collapse in her grasp and the worms inside slide out the bottom.

Then as Sakura comes in with her own weapon there’s a hard yank as the coat is pulled through Alexandria’s fingers and down into the earth.  Leaving only the hat to slowly drift down to a rest on the ground.

As the battlefield settles the distant rumbling comes to the forefront of your senses, though there’s no obvious source anywhere in sight.  At least until the grass and dust about fifty yards out starts shifting and blowing around.  Then the bent light around the aircraft shimmers and falls away.

Introduction

At first glance it looks like some kind of alien creature, not unlike a ray with the large upturned fin-like structures running the length of the central structure.  Silvery-grey metal lines the underside while gleaming while metal lines the topside.  The central structure of the aircraft dips down into a nose-like cockpit and three small structures extend from the underside of the aircraft looking like much-to-small feet or landing gear until they begin to twitch and survey the area around them, weapons.

The ship simply hovers in the air under its own propulsion for a moment before a small ring flares to life with bluish light on the rear underside of the gunship creating a column down to the ground.  A door opens inside the ring and a tall and bulky figure in a black cloak descends far too slowly, four more of the silvery creatures like the one who dropped Sakura with the party slither into existence next to him.

The cloaked figure gestures with a hand defensively and in a low voice, which carries well with the hum of the engines behind him, shouts out to you all.

“We share a common foe.  I came to assist, but you seem to have already vanquished it.”

He reaches up and grabs the hood of his cloak and pulls it back, revealing a hairless alien face.  Rough grey skin covers a long neck that attaches to the back of a squat wide skull, four mandible-like appendages sit in place of a lower jaw lined with sharp pointed teeth.  A white metal helm sits firmly on his head, with a gorget of similar material poking up from under the cloak.

Osada takes a step back from the "corpse" of the worm man, shaking the remnants of the worms that had tried burrowing their way into him as he sheathed his blades. A few moments later, after watching the newly arrived ship land, Osada takes a step forward, giving the alien a small nod, "That we did. Gave us a hell of a surprise too, what with the whole meteor strike. Any idea what it was, exactly?" he says as he folds his arm, his head tilting towards the corpse in question.

"Oh, that's. . . good. . ." Arturia panted. She might've been more alarmed by the alien had they not just fought a sapient, sanity-rending mass of worms. And if she didn't feel like she was dying. "I need to. . . sit down for a sec. . ."

She promptly keeled over with a dull thump.

Lyra was about to greet the new visitor when she saw Arturia collapse.
Quickly she darted over to try to catch her, but she was too slow.

Instead, she took the first aid kit Arturia was carrying and did her best to patch Arturia up. As she did so, she looked up at the figure. “C-can you help us? Arturia and Osada are hurt badly, and the others got pretty injured as well.”

The piercing wounds don't seem to bleed much at all, Lyra discovers, although the burns seem about as bad as one would expect.
