Substation

Close examination of the crater marks show that they seem to have been created by some sort of flash heating and then rapid cooling, drips of previously molten material forming at the bottom edge and "splatters" of smaller melted places around the crater.  Unlike most of the magic she's seen, which seems to grossly to violate thermodynamics as she understands them by creating to destroying energy or mass this looks like something impacted, transferred heat at an expectable rate, then dissipated or dissolved.  Some kind of plasma burst or high powered laser maybe?

Just as she's shrugging Martyr comes to the edge of the fence with the holes burned in it and looks out to the dusty alley beyond, opposite to the side leading to the road where Lyra chased the figure.  Out in the dust she can see several hoof prints, long squarish "toes" that come together at the back and cover a space considerably larger than normal human footprints.

Martyr

Arturia turns her back to the fence. "Just give me one second. . ." She does a sort of awkward shimmy up and down, cutting through the chain links of the fence with the supernaturally-sharp edge of the blade that still seemed to be driven through her heart, despite its lack of outward appearance. Assuming nothing strange stops her from doing so, she kicks it the rest of the way down, then proceeds to follow the footsteps.

Lyra

"Looks like these holes were cut out using... some kind of energy tool. Maybe a laser or plasma."

Seeing Arturia cut a hole through the fence and move to where the hoof-footed person had disappeared, Lyra chose to follow her. "I didn't really find much at the spot where they disappeared, but I was to worried about what had been done to the van to really search the area. Might be something you can find that I skipped over." On that note, the contractor tried to do a closer look at the surrounding area, looking for any traces that might indicate how the hoof-footed person had left or where they might have gone to.

Substation

The fencing stands no chance and falls away with a clatter as Martyr slices through it.

Venturing into the backside of the alley Martyr and Lyra find two distinct sets of footprints.  The first much more recent set that they saw from a distance that match those that Lyra saw before.  The first pair is far deeper than the rest, perhaps they leapt the substation or scrambled along the wall and dropped down?  They continue from there leading away from the substation towards the far side of the alley.  The other set is older, more like simple roundish impressions in the dust than really footprints.  Still they seem to be too large for a normal human of this world though.  These prints lead up to the substation from the far side of the alley, circle back and forth a bit, then lead back out the far side.

It seems whoever tried to tamper with the Mystery Machine also purposefully damaged the substation during the storm.

Eventually the alley lets out on a secondary street that runs parallel to Main Street.  Both sets of prints are lost in the bare patches of asphalt and windswept dust, but just beyond in the street there are several large peculiar formations in the dust.  Strange circles and bare patches in the asphalt different from those formed by the breeze off the plains and flat farmland around the town, more like a tremendous amount of air being blown downwards towards the ground.

Lyra, and perhaps Martyr, would be familiar with the patterns made as the impression of aircraft landing or coming close to the ground.  Though the overall shape is a different pattern from any ships or helicopters she's seen.

Arturia

"All the dust is blown away." She moves closer to the area, looking around to see if there was any other sign of the mysterious individual. "Do you think she had a helicopter or something? Or a spaceship, I guess, given what we're talking about."

"This damage pattern looks like some form of plasma torch," Alexandria remarks, having arrived at the substation somewhat later than everyone else.  "As for the dust patterns, I think something with a rotor seems more likely than a starship.  I don't detect any damage to the surroundings, and a vessel small enough to fit on this road without harming the surroundings yet able to fly without any reaction mass would suggest a level of technology that...  They would have no need to behave so cautiously and furtively.  They could still have a starship, but I do not believe it was in play here.  Perhaps an atmospheric parasite craft of some sort."

Mayor's Office

Anyone still hanging around the office would at this point see Father Richardson coming in with a stretcher and medical bag.  He gives the Mayor a look over then he and Fred put him on it and head over to the Church where he can take a better look.

Daphne and Velma head out towards the Mystery Machine.

Somewhere Beyond

Sakura blinks herself weakly awake with a pounding headache and the feeling of her body being stretched oddly as she comes to find she's being carried under someone's arm a bit like a ragdoll.  She blinks again, she's somewhere dark with view of the stars in every direction, all appearing oddly close and yet impossibly distant in a way that was wrong somehow.

The black-clad figure carrying her seemed to be smoking something as she got a whiff of tobacco and incense.  He stops in front of another figure wearing a matching black coat who lets out a low grumbling growl at their approach before speaking in an equally low voice.

"Another one?  You know I'm supposed to be on a mission, not a ferry service!"

The figure carrying her sighed out a puff of smoke strong enough to make her woozy in her current state.

"Can't be helped.  Use the Dusks if you have to, just take her to the others."

"Hmph, fine."

Another breath or two of the smoke and Sakura loses consciousness once more.

Substation

As the three women walk around examining the street for anymore impressions or traces of tracks Martyr is the first to notice something flittering in between a couple buildings nearby and by the time Alexandria and Lyra can be altered it's already upon them.  A humanoid...creature, impossibly slender, wearing a colorless white and grey jumpsuit and moving by slithering through the air more than walking on the ground.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It stops a few feet short of the trio and sort of hangs there, supported more by its head as it treads in place and defies gravity than by its feet on the ground.  A zipper where its mouth ought to be opens up to reveal a sort of clamping jaw underneath for a split second before its whole head peels back and another person is forced up and out into the world right in front of them.

Sakura found herself in a cramped dark space once again, only to be hurled into the light and onto a dusty sunbaked street.  Her appearance was relatively unchanged, her usual Haori was replaced with a pair of blue denim bellbottom jeans and a bright red short-sleeved silk shirt.  A pair of large crescent earrings hang from her ears, clipped on if her ears weren't already pierced.  The creature continues to cough up a parasol that lands directly in Sakura's lap, then it immediately starts slithering away for distance without so much as a word of explanation.

Cicivexa had followed the others to the substation, but mostly stayed silent, on-guard, and vigilant; Alexandria and Martyr's conversation had progressed too quickly for him to even attempt to identify the context, and the enemy could be anywhere...

He immediately began preparing a spell as soon as one of the most unnatural creatures he had ever seen in his life materialized in front of him. When it delivered yet another person in location-relevant fashion, he held, but still kept the spell prepared. He thought he had grown used to the constant and inexplicable delivery of dangerous exiles from other worlds to aid them in their missions; how did it keep getting less and less trustworthy?!

Sakura shook her head, tying up any lose strands of her white Hair which might have gotten a bit roughed up due to the unique transportation method before grabbing her Parasol and standing up. She looked after the strange demonic creature who had the kindness to get her to...wherever she ended up now.

The Witch laid eyes upon the strangers in front of her, one more unique than the last. Where in Inferno was she exactly?! Sure she had a vague idea but the specifics eluded her mind.

"Uhm...Hi! Apologies for just barging in like that. Somebody appearantly thought it'd be a very fun and interactive idea to use a demon to carry me over here"

Trying to get rid of some of the dust she collected while on the ground she made a formal greeting to the group

"The Name's Sakura, nice to be meeting all of you"

Lyra

From the moment she saw the... creature... Lyra held a hand on her wrench, ready to attack. But after it had spat up... "Sakura", and slunk off, she relaxed a little, especially since it was clear this woman wasn't interested in attacking. And, well, no harm in being polite in return.

"I'm Lyra. Lyra Concept. It's good to meet you."

Without saying a word, Cicivexa flicked his staff and attempted to wrap the white abomination in a cloak of frigid death before it got too far away, making sure to avoid this "Sakura". He then tapped his 'glasses' and tried to examine her, first her feet to see if she was disguising anything cloven, and then her ears to see if a worm was hiding in her.

After swiftly confirming that neither was the case, he lowered his staff. "My name is Cicivexa Vivivexa. Your arrival interrupted our following the footprints of two villains. Our band is investigating the mass disappearance of the smallfolk of this town, its bizarre duststorms, the perpetrators of a sinister ritual, and worm-like vilekin that can tunnel into one's ears if they aren't cautious."

He sighed to himself, before looking Sakura directly in the eye. "As I hope you can surmise from our circumstances, I am not possessing a surplus of trust, so I implore you to impart with us whatever cursed abilities, demonic attributes, dreadful behaviors, or any other potential reason I would otherwise seek to annihilate you on the spot. As the forces above have forced us to cooperate from today until gods-know-when, 'tis better to learn such details imminently, as opposed to during a crisis situation yet to come."

Cicivexa's mask reveals no hooves or worm contamination on the newcomer, though as he glances up with his mask active to the creature he's met with a strange error.  It's unable to determine the properties or density of the space the creature is occupying and gives a reading as if nothing was there at all, aside from the displaced air.

His spell wraps around the creature to an interesting effect as well.  The creature stops exactly as expected, but instead of being shrouded in ice and frost it suddenly snaps to a position with its arms at its side and its legs together.  There hanging in the air as if suspended by a point at the head and feet it vibrates and stretches violently like a plucked string or rubber band.  After a second the shaking stops, and it ticks in place, moving like a clock hand twice before continuing to slither away like nothing happened.

The creature's incomprehensible properties only made it even more of an eyesore. Still, it clearly responded to something he did, so it wasn't necessarily futile. "...A moment, if you will." In a brief instant, he unleashed both fulgur and flame against it.

The ball of fire lances out and impacts with satisfying puff of smoke and the creature seems to dissolve into a small cloud of white sparks and thorny motes.  The thunderclap and flash of yellow that follows only serve to further confirm the kill.

Dropped from the creature, now about 50 yards out, you see three glittering gold speckles drop to the ground.
