Ehto slashes the Flead Larvae Swarm, ensnaring each larva with black tendrils.

Ehto deals 29 damage to the Flead Larvae Swarm, killing 2 Flead Larvae and Ensnaring the rest. She also applies a stack of Dread, reducing the Flead Larvae Swarm’s damage by 6. Ehto gains Might.

Tsubasa
As the battle rages around her, Tsubasa continues to focus.

Tsubasa concentrates again, gaining 1 Concentration (now 3) and 4 more temporary HP (now 8). She now gains the effects of Total Concentration Breathing!

Rory
Rory does a quick stab at the Flead Queen with the gunlance, readying it for further attacks - but the Queen’s multicolored spines dig into Rory.

Rory deals 10 damage to the Flead Queen. He will deal extra damage if he attacks again next turn.
The Flead Queen's carapace is now Scratched.
The Flead Queen's spines dig into Rory! He receives 1 Impair (all outgoing direct damage is reduced by 33%, decays by 1 at the end of the next turn) and 1 Exposed (All subsequent incoming attacks will deal an extra 1 damage per stack, decays by 2 at the end of the next turn).

The Flead Larvae struggle against the tendrils to no avail.

With the Larvae restrained, Ehto sheathed her thorn within the fur of her chest (more like plunged it in like her name was Martyr, really), again pushing off the ground with her claws gleaming. She fell upon the queen once more, savagely prying open the deep rents she had already left in it's armored carapace, and stealing the occasional bite of flesh. Not even the spines digging into her seemed to be much deterrent.

Ehto Mauls the Flead Queen, dealing 6d10+14 Physical/Slashing damage, healing herself for 1/2 the damage, and inflicting another stack of Shredded (lowers the target's DR by [6] per stack; Negative DR values directly increase the damage taken). Might is consumed and Ehto gains Sorcery.

(Ehto's cloak automatically nullifies the first two ailments against her, in case attacking the queen inflicts her with Exposed).

The spikes digging into his hand made the Faunus grunt, he'd need a moment to readjust his grip but he couldn't waste the moment he had now. And so he thrust his gunlance up and into the beast, pinning a limb out of the way as his weapon glowed red with power, and finally discharged a plume of flame and an explosive filled stake into the vulnerability he saw.

Utzi
Utzi's frown deepens as he watches the queen take a colossal bite out of the already somewhat hurt Rory, before he takes a deep breath, cups his hands around his mouth, and snow whips up around him, forming the illusory image of a gigantic quadruped with colossal tusks coalesces out of thin air behind him, as Utzi lets out a bellowing shout that draws attention to him.

Perks
Paleosmarts: Utzi doesn’t have much in the way of formal education, but surviving in the megafauna-filled wilds for so long has given him insights into certain things. Utzi can use his Constitution instead of Intelligence for the purposes of crafting checks using stone age techniques and technology.

Permafrost Level 2: Utzi doesn’t really feel… warmth anymore. It’s been so long that he can’t even dredge up the memory of the sun on his skin.
Utzi is immune to fire, heat, ice, and cold based damage.

Built Like They Used To: Utzi is a from a time before all these modern nick-knacks and medical advancements made living easy and lavish. He never would’ve survived if he wasn’t tough. Utzi has no constitution stat cap.

Flaw:
Frozen Soul: Ice permeates every fiber of Utzi's being. Everything he does, he does with an unnatural chill filling him to his bones. Utzi cannot learn magic, or sufficiently magic-like effects, except for ice magic. Foes that resist ice resist all of Utzi's attacks, regardless of how effective they would be otherwise. Additionally, Utzi is vulnerable to attacks on his immobile, unchanging soul, and rolls twice to resist any soul-based status effects made by an enemy, taking the worse result.

Cold Snap:
Utzi summons the cold of the glacier he was frozen in. Enemies within 3 init of Utzi take Syn + 1d4 damage. 1 turn cooldown.
Level 2: Enemies that take damage from this attack lose 1 init. + 2d4 damage.
Level 3: Enemies that take damage from this attack lose 2 init.
Level 4: Damage is Syn + 3d4.

Current Effect: Enemies within 3 init of Utzi take Syn + 3d4 damage, and lose 2 init. 1 turn cooldown.

Glacier’s Call:
Utzi yells loud enough that he cannot be ignored, and strengthens his skin with the essence of his former prison. Target 1 enemy. It must attack Utzi before his next turn, if able, and Utzi subtracts 1d6 from all damage he will take until his next turn.

Utzi encases an enemy in a thin layer of ice that slowly freezes them. Each turn, they must roll 3d6 + con/2. If they roll less than 5 + (Utzi’s level x2), they take 2d6 + SYN damage. If they succeed, they take no damage from Utzi’s prison that turn.
Level 2: The enemy rolls 2d6 + Syn instead.
Level 3: The enemy takes 3d6 + Syn damage instead.


Current Effect: Target 1 enemy. Each of their turns, they roll 2d6 + their con/2. If the number they roll is less than 5 + Uti’s level x 2, (Currently 17) they take 3d6 + Syn Cold damage. If they succeed, they do not take any damage from this effect this turn.

Skillful Toss:
A practiced throw of an Atl-atl, perfectly suited for hitting the vitals of large targets..
Deals 2d6 + STR to 1 target. If used against an animal weighing over 1000 pounds, instead deals damage equal to 2d8 STR x 2 Expends spears, which can be retrieved after combat.
Level 2: Deals 3d6 + Str against most targets. Deals 3d8 + Str x 2 against animals over 1000 pounds.
Level 3: Deals 3d8 + Str against most targets. Deals 3d10 + Str x 2 against animals over 1000 Pounds.
Level 4: Deals 4d8 + Str against most targets. Deals 4d10 Str x 2 against animals over 1000 pounds.
Level 5: Deals 4d8 + Str against most targets. Deals 6d10 + Str x 2 against animals over 1000 Pounds.

Current Effect: Utzi throws one of his spears at the enemy. It does 4d8 + Dex. If the enemy happens to be an animal that weighs over 1000 pounds (GM’s discretion) This attack deals 6d10 + Dex + Str instead. Expends spears, which can be retrieved later.

Ice Plug:
When one is made of ice, repairs are simple enough. Just freeze over the holes and move on.

A fluffy, brown cloak that might look comfortable if it wasn’t caked in grime.
5% Cold Resistance.
Level 2: 10% Cold Resistance.
Level 3: While in weather below freezing temperatures, gain +1 Str and +1 Dex.

Knapped Chaos:  Slivers of Continuity
Level 5
May be used as ammunition for actions that consume spears.  Gives one fewer dice of damage and deals half as much damage to the user.  On hit, after damage, all characters on the same Init slot as the target take and deal 33% more damage.  The effect lasts for 1d3 rounds after which Knapped Chaos reappears in the user's possession.

Ehto
The sorceress slices apart what remains of the Flead Queen's carapace, sundering the flesh beneath.
Ehto deals 84 Physical/Slashing damage to the Flead Queen, and heals herself for 0 HP (42, but Ehto is already at her max HP of 114). She also inflicts another stack of Shredded (now 2) reducing the Flead Queen’s DR by 6. Ehto’s Might is consumed and she now gains Sorcery.
The Flead Queen’s Spined Carapace is now Broken!

Tsubasa
With nothing to protect her, the Flead Queen receives the full brunt of Tsubasa's slash.
Tsubasa spends 4 Concentration (now 0) and deals 94 damage. She then focuses, giving herself 1 Concentration and 4 more Temporary HP (now 12).

Rory
Rory rushes in with his gunlance and fires at the Queen, setting her alight.
Rory deals 34 damage and inflicts a burn (1d6 damage for 3 turns and 1d6+8 damage when the burn wears off).

7 Flead Larvae
The Flead Larvae rush down Ehto, lashing at her with their spined tails, but the cloak Ehto’s wearing renders the larvae completely harmless.
The Flead Larvae deal 0 damage 7 times (total 0). They also inflict Exposed on Ehto 6 times, but her Crossbreed Cloak protects her!

Utzi
The bellow attracts the attention of the entire Flead swarm... But it also helps protect him.
Utzi forces the Flead Queen, the swarm of 7 Fleads, and the swarm of 5 Fleads to all target him before his next turn, if able. He also takes 1d10+4 less damage until his next turn, and foes making physical attacks will receive 2d6+5 damage.

5 Fleads
The Fleads focus on Utzi, curling up into balls before hurling themselves at him. Only some of them hit him head-on, seemingly confused by the illusion, and all are hurt by the bitter cold. Some seem to slow down until they’ve stopped moving entirely.
The Fleads attack Utzi. They deal 3 damage to him 5 times (total 15), and receive 11 cold damage 5 times in return. Two of the Fleads die from this cold damage.

Baron Support
Somewhere during their fight with the rest of the nest, a pair of rockets slam into the Flead Queen - and with no carapace left to protect her, she’s seriously wounded.
The Flead Queen takes 48 damage from the Baron Professional’s Rocket Blast.
The Flead Queen’s movements become sluggish, and she's bleeding haemolymph from multiple wounds... Someone should finish her off.

Friedhold
Friedhold heals Rory with a burst of green light.
Friedhold restores 25 HP to Rory.

Ehto

The sorceress leapt back into the air, pure gluttony taking over as she vanished into the shade of a tree. When next she appeared it was in the queen's shadow, leaping up to take one final savage bite with jaws that quite literally unhinged themselves in a manner more appropriate to a hellish serpent than a hellhound.

Ehto again mauls the queen for 6d10+14 Physical/Slashing Damage, hopefully finishing her off!

Ehto's bite tears a massive chunk out of the Flead Queen's flesh, and the creature lets out a last scream before falling over dead. The rest of the hive seems to alternatively keel over or flee, respectively, and the Barons are able to burn most of the escaping hive's survivors.

The worksite falls eerily silent in the wake of what just happened, the Barons too confused and worried by Ehto's kill to celebrate their victory. The stench of dead and burning bugs begins to stink up the area...

The hellish abomination went to tear further into the carcass, but stopped as she noticed the worried expressions on the Baron's faces. Had she gone too far? She'd only let herself revert because she was confident they lacked a means to meaningfully harm her, at least compared to back home. While not being attacked after such a display was certainly an upgrade, she never liked seeing the looks of fear that her transformations inevitably spawned.

...It doesn't taste that good anyway. She turned away from the fresh corpse and shifted back to a more familiar, less horrifying form. Clearly, it would be wiser next time to stick to partial reversions only. Instead of facing the awkward questions she knew were inevitable now, she looked over her latest handiwork.

specifically, she searched for any sign the Flead Queen had somehow been controlled or agitated by the cultists.

With the battle done and the barons beginning to burn the remaining bugs, Rory wisely pulls his scarf up to keep out some of the stench at least. But his work wasn't done even with the queen dead, as he began running around picking through the remains of the queen looking for any interesting organs and any parts of her carrapace that were still intact. He was tempted to say something about the uh, hellhound in the room, but he figured it could be said after everyone had had their fill of loot.

Friedhold & Nessa

Friedhold let out a held breath and long sigh as the beast came to a grisly demise.  His shoulder betrayed exhaustion, but still he turned back to Utzi and the other more minorly injured party members to offer blasts of purifying pale green light.

Meanwhile as she was let free Nessa moved in to stab at the Queen's corpse, and any other potentially Adam carrying corpses in the area in a  frenzy of harvesting.

Tsubasa flicked the blood off her blade and sheathed it in a single motion, sealing the battle with one final glimmer of blue. Ehto's devouring was. . . concerning. Skilled as she was, she knew her limits, and there was little hope of her succeeding against a beast of that power if the hellhound decided she wanted a sample after all. Next to that, the child violating the already-putrid corpse faded to mostly nothing. Given what the smell was doing to her belly, she elected to head out of the immediate area in the direction of the town, leaving the cleanup crew behind for the moment.

Utzi
Utzi snarls and yells defiantly as the bugs begin to skitter away and hide, the green light seeming to aid his recovery not by regenrating tissue the normal way, but by patching holes in his flesh with ice as his cells begin to regrow at a far diminished rate compared to how things usually go. He seems far less concerned about his tutor's appetite than anyone else present, regarding it with the same degree of curiosity as he does with all the other strange things he has encountered in his time with the group. With a calm nonchalance, he walks over to the Flead queen's corpse, and moves to pick up his spear, only to jump back in shock as it appears back in his hand before he could do so.
"A good hunt! It is a good thing this one's young are cowards. They could've been an actual danger if they chose to continue to attack in the numbers they seemed to have."
